Is this nitrogen def or cal mag?

im sprouting three more strains right away and i feed them all the same and they do great. Advanced works for me if i keep it simple. I just run the base A and B, calmag, silica, and ill hittem with a bloom booster once in there, and some rock resonator, oh and some humbolt magnum just because it has sulfer in it. I try to keep it pretty basic, like mostly just a and b plus calmag, silica just makes stronger branches. But i get a bunch of stuff to try for free so I use it. Advanced has lots of extra shit you can buy but if your adding it all at once its easy to run into over feeding problems. This is the best advice i have for you on nutrients....Fertilizer doesnt grow the plants, grower talent grows the plants.
So next grow I'll cut down on the additives, but really what I need to do first is start paying attention to PPM. I think from there I'll know the correct amounts to add, and hopefully I won't run into this problem again.

Paying attention to PPM should decrease the risk of salt buildup at the bottom, correct?

Side note: I see a lot of dudes using Cal Mag... Almost everybody. I've gone a whole grow without using any... Since sensi A+B have calcium and magnesium, is this why I haven't really run into problems?

Salt buildup in the grow medium can be caused by not providing enough runoff, over feeding, or leaving your plant in the runoff so it reabsorbs. The last ones not your problem right now but the first two will be much easier to gauge with the ppm meter and good runoff. So thats a yessir.

And as for the calmag i went my first grow without it till the end, and it went ok. Then for my next couple of grows i didnt really use as much as i should and i had deficencies but i didnt really notice them because they werent really bad. One of the members posted once that either calcium or magnesium gets used more by the plants than either the P or the K. I cant really remember which of the cal or mag or p or k they were talking about but you get the point. Its pretty important.

Worth a quick read while you take a shit some time chaps... an interest in plants is healthy but an interest in fertiliser is just plain sad! I love fertiliser and the more it stinks of chemicals the more I love it! I am going to do a thread with the full nutrient line up in PDF format for interested parties information purposes.

about cal and mag, yes that's why you haven't had problems. people on here will say that a plant needs calcium or magnesium even though it's already in the ferts. go figure.

The strongest plant...
(In the middle of taking pictures, we went and got net because they were falling everywhere)
----

This one is the one with the over fert... It seems to be coming back with the added REVIVE. But it may be a combination of that, and the fact it's just getting less ferts. Either way, still some bad leaves, but nowhere near as bad.

---

This one still clawing... But it's gotten a little better. These pics are from day before yesterday, but this guy was coming back pretty well. He's actually getting some triches and the bud doesn't look so... Veggy? Before it looked like the bud was made of the curled up leaves, but now they're getting fuzzy and fluffy

I can't tell if you two are saying the same thing or opposite, haha.

Either way Cl@rk, good reads posted.

Promix is a brand of soiless medium. Peat. No coconuts in it. The promix hp has added mycorrhizae.
Like in this guys case most new growers dont know that you have to feed it every watering. And then if they ever decide to go from soiless to soil they end up burning their plants from feeding every watering lol.

^^
I did that just by switching from hp to the promix potting mix (it has nutes in it) Also screwed up my ph thinking it wasn't soilless and caused a cal def.

Back under control now but yes, with promix hp I feed every water with a 1/4 to 1/2 strength.

We started by using 3/4 strength, but I think next run we'll stay between 1/4-1/2 to avoid any burns down the road.

That sounds good if your growing smaller plants. Bigger plants will yellow out if you just feed 1/2 strength. Mine can reach 6.5-7 feet indoor and they need around 850-1000 every water in full bloom.

Thats right I am not saying anything regards the cal OR mag requirements but don't use revive and calmag together ime. You clearly look to have a toxic level of N in my opinion. I like revive by the way but I am convinced its the same/similar to Botanicare Cal Mag Plus, maybe someone nutrient god will pop in and clarify this??

You have started the repair process now so stick with it. Personally I prefer not to feed any base nutrients for a few days, especially after a flush due to nutrient overload. If I am using a supplement such as Revive and its in flower with N overload I just cut the base feed A/B out altogether until I see new lush on the growth. I might use my bloom booster PK9-18 at low ppm and drop to 400w/600w lighting for a few days. When the plants perking up and a nice colour on the new growth I start back on 600w, 1000w 1250w depending on my lights output... basically I cut the light by 30% and really drop my ppm until the plant looks good and its new growth is that nice lush green. To be fair its a long time since I had nutrient problems because I just keep everything on the low side and build it up to the 3/4 stage of flowering where I am running as high as 1100ppm if I'm lucky to be under 1000watt HPS lights but this is only for 7 days max and then its back down to 500 over a week and plain water for a final week-10 days! Sounds easy doesn't it...

Unfortunately we're not working with switchable ballasts, so it's either 1000W or 0W haha. But it seems like revive is helping, they're not AS BAD...
So the nitro tox plant has been like that pretty much 2 weeks of bloom, and they're just now getting fuzzy.
Should I leave them in bloom longer since they seem like they're behind?

Its ready when its ready, just keep an eye on it. I have done a very test involving trichome development and I didone at clear trix 9 wks, cloudy trix 10wks and 50/50 amber at 11.5 weeks or there abous.... anyway they were all pretty much same except the 9wks cos the buzz didn't last as long? But it seems to be strain related, mines different every time

Gotta get a jewelers loop!!
I was just reading about how to make sure that they're ready. I think I'm gonna harvest when cloudy.

You don't know how much I appreciate the help & knowledge you guys are giving me!
