Is this mold or what? Is it salvageable?

Definitely mold.

I would remove that bud and chop the rest if its near ready and check your humidity gauge cause it shouldnt mold at 50%. Those buds arent that big to be molding and its surface mold. If that were a typical bud rot the sugar leaves would be dead where the mold attacked it from the inside.

Having said that you could try and salvage the bud and cut out the infected bits. I would do this outside the growing area to prevent spreading airborne mold particles.

My grow room is a converted bathroom with heat/AC...run the exhaust fan 24/7 and I have a couple other clamp in fans to move air around. I leave the door open when the lights are on to keep it from getting too warm and close it when the lights go out at 1:00pm. The lights come on at 1:00 AM while the room is closed up but it rarely gets over 80 and I open the doors up when I get up around 0600...now that I think back, I noticed the fans had become unplugged and we're not running on day last week...probably how it got established.

Most of the mold is on the main Colas which I snipped off. I inspected the remaining plant well with a loupe and removed anything else that looked questionable...lost close to half the plant.
Are the moldy buds garbage or is there anything I can do when them? Canna butter maybe?

Man , got me nervous about mine. I keep my RH at 45 night time and 40 day time. Just started week 9 today. I wonder if you can turn lightly moldy weed into butter

the only thing I've seen is people making alcohol hash and straining it through a coffee filter, it might work but I won't test it

Thanks everyone, I took the whole plant down and trashed any bud with signs of mold... definitely a week or so before I'd planned to harvest so I'm not expecting much.
Definitely learned something with this and will pay closer attention to air circulation in the future.

Yup, I'm not too bummed, it's all just an experiment for me anyways. I have a clone of that plant that I just flipped, so I'll get another crack at her.

the more fans and fresh air the better never close them in a small room at night without airflow especially in a bathroom mold loves nooks and crannies
