You can get a bulb at www.1000bulbs.com that is called a conversion bulb. You can use your MH light (just the way it is) and the bulb puts out lighting like an HPS will. The cost is 62.00. When you look it up it will be under 360 watt conversion bulb. Check it out. I use one and it is great. This is the cheapest place I found this bulb.

I wish best of luck on your grow...

Allow me to introduce you to your newest Best Friend for a while...lol...

But I just wanted to make sure you realize that...

HID LIGHTING IS BALLAST BULB SPECIFIC...

A 400 WATT MH BULB NEEDS TO GO IN A 400 WATT MH BALLAST

AND CONVERSELY

A 400 WATT HPS BULB NEEDS TO GO IN A 400 WATT HPS BALLAST

PERIOD... NO WAY AROUND THAT...

Now... there are digital ballasts that will run both MH and HPS, but you need to make sure before you go blowing your cash into little glass shards... and possibly get hurt/start a fire...

HID is no joke... be safe...

Hope this helps...

I have never had luck with mh unless I combine hps with it then it works real good.with just mh mine stay short and grow slow.I took a 400 watt mh with a ballest thats not combined in the light.and in the hood I put 2 hps 150 watt lights on it on the oposite end of the mh bulb.I used them $88 150 watt hps security lights from lowes.I took the socets out and screwed them on the mh hood.I used a junk extention cord from the brow ligh to the sockets. then pluged them in.they work real good they are super growing my plants.
