Is this feasible to make a stealth grow with this?

So i have an old 50 somethin inch cinemavision tv. Its one of those big fat tv's. I don't use it and i almost wanna take it apart and make it a hollow shell but before doing so does anyone know if i pop open this tv if im gonna look inside and be like "fuck that". So title pretty much says it all is it feasible?

For God's sake know what you are doing if you do though..

There are likely capacitors in there that are charged, and even with the set unplugged, hold enough of a charge to kill a person 50 years later.. 'seriously'.. not joking in the least..

I know i would never mess with an old tube amp, or Television unless I knew what I was doing and could discharge any poential charged caps.. UNLESS you snip with well insulated handles and just be careful.... bad advice that is to say though.

see thats exactly the kind of shit i wanted to know, i know the old TUBES can harm you I've heard that before, this is an HD tv however, just a really old one. I dont think it has the harmful tube in it. Its a 780i i believe. As for growing in it, i think a drilled hole for a fan would be good ey? Its gonna be my veg area with cfl's in it so im not too worried about the heat aspect.

I don't have a clue either.. hence my disclaimer 'unless you know what you are doing'.

For all you know one of the ways you get an instant pic with those guys is with a super charge from a cap.. I don't know.. either do you.. BE CAREFUL

Youd be better off geting a small grow tent and hiding it somewhere. A plugged in, old non-working tv with wires coming out of it and exhaust air blowing out the side may be cool in theory but its not "stealth" and it is a poor environment. (no space, not easily customizable, easily identifiable etc)

Unscrew the screw on the sides right below the screen. Take the top off (should weigh 50-70lbs so get help). On projection screen tvs, the whole top is hollow already. The bottom half holds the meat and potatoes its the heavy part. I know because i did it to my buddys tv when he bought his new home. You might find yourself with enough room just in the screen part but if you gut it you will beable to grow some goid sized plants in there

Look up Demonic on here. Not only did he make a good one but others doing the same thing with these huge boxes linked up to him.

You should never cut any electrical wiring without an insulated handle... Just thought that was known, but I guess maybe some people aren't the sharpest. Every pair of wire cutters I own have rubber grips and those capacitors definitely will not have enough charge to melt or burn the rubber if they even have any charge left in them at all

Wear a rubber glove, grab a screwdriver with a plastic handle, and touch EVERYTHING inside that could shock you. Cycle the power button as many times as you can without any power coming in and out to remove any reserve electricity, then you should be ready to guy it. If this is a stealth grow, ensure, have an excuse ready as to why no one can ever watch your TV, and make sure you seal it off so the smell doesn't get out.
