I was trying to do is place lights in certain spots and avoid having to move them as much. So I made sure I had enough lumens to go around.
I have 4 foot 8 T5 54W 6500 k spectrum
this is apx 4 ft high and a 5 inches away from dwc plants and 3 feet from my auto strains in soil.
I have a 400 watt cool tube HPS same height as the the t5. No signs of heat due to major control of heat (will explain later)
2 desk light fixtures with 23 watt 2700k bulbs
2 light fixtures what are apx 2 feet long and set in two left corners, back corner and front corner. Kind of acts like sidelighting i guess you can say. I have some y adapators which allows me to hook more bulbs to them. The list of bulbs on each are as follows:
light fixture #1 :
6 23 watt 2700k
1 42 watt 2700k
light fixture #2
6 23 watt 2700k
1 42 watt 2700k
I also have a 10.5 inch high quality reflector with a y connector on as well. That has a 42 watt 2700k bulb and a 23 natural daylight bulb.
Of course a few lights will have to be moved around a little bit. however I wanted to create enough light so that only reason why i have to move lights is due to growth. I just hate to have to do it every day as the space is so crammed! I MEAN REALLY! its really tight running all that i have in there and the plants and dwc grow... amazing its like playing tetris.
AS for for ventilation to keep heat down.. the hps is a cool tube and the fan is in attic drawing the hot air. I also have a 12,000 BTU portable a/c which sits IN the grow room so it is actually only cooling that closet and not the whole room. I also have 1 wall fan. A Holmes Air purifier & Ionizer for large room. I also have a oscilating fan that is helping pushing the cold air from ac and is aimed at the hps light to help keep heat down.
I would like to add some more fans... Possibly HIGH CFM computer fans. I rather try those as they are small, portable and move alot of air.. It also be easier for me to rig them on the walls
