To put bluntly, no. An air purifier does not filter the air, for that you would need an air filter (hepa filter etc.). Sometimes a car air freshener can help reduce how noticeable the smell is but any marijuana knowledgeable person will notice the smell even if its faint. A good idea would be to use a fan to blow the air out a window as long as you know your neighbors wont be getting a good wiff of it. Something the air purifier will do that is important through the growing cylce, is it will kill mold, mildew, and sometimes airborn diseases that would make your plant sick. So if you have the $ to spend on it, go right ahead.

If you're going to spned $150 might as well get a filter + fan combo.

I would only get an air purifier that uses an activated carbon filter.

If it just uses a regular filter or metal grates that you just wipe off in the sink Forget it, it will still smell.
