Hey everyone I'm trying to figure out if my plant is alternating nodes yet. It's a dutch passion mazar bought as FEM seeds. I have circled an area but since I'm a noob I'm confused about alternating nodes. My plant is a month old today. 1123131611.jpg1123131612.jpg

No. It's still branching opposite as far as I can tell.

What the hell is the area you circled supposed to be?

it's an area where a branch is coming off stalk but on the other side there isn't one. if you save picture then open and enlarge you can see what I'm talking about

If I remember correctly the alternating nodes come at plant maturity. Can't remember for sure, too old and too high. lol

Not quite yet, but soon.

With alternating nodes, the next leaf stem (node), will be slightly above the next oldest one, not directly across from it, in a zig zag pattern as the stem grows.

Looks good though.

Now would be a good time to top/fim before alternating starts. Just remove the top node. Cut below the top node and above the next node down. That's it.
