Is this a spider mite?

these spiders are pulling the tips of low hanging fan leaves and cocooning a pocket to lay eggs. I’ve found a total of 4 of these pods/cocoons and each one had a hundred or so babies in it. I don’t think they are spider mites ? I only have a couple plants so I’ve been hosing them down with a light showering of cool water and then the next morning picking off any survivors. None of my buds have webs on them....

Yeah but they r a pain and theres hundreds when they hatch. Are they bad , it would seem so? Right?

They are typically predatory on other pest
and when consumed an excellent source of protein
Don't spray anything on your plants

Definitely not a spider mite. Harmless tiny spider.

I'm not so sure about harmless . The leaves they are nesting on are dying

They are nesting on leaves and those leaves die

It looks like a young brown recluse or a yellow sac spider, I'm gonna check this one.

Looks like a yellow sac spider. I have a few in my garden. I think they are protecting my grow against other insects. However, Im not an expert but I can say they are not spider mites. I would question whether the insect in the photo you have are the cause of the yellowing and dying off of leaves. Where on the plant are the dying leaves?

Yellow sac spider, necrotic bite or cytotoxic or something...TBH I didn't really read much on it but you can. it's a baddy.

Interesting. I've never heard of or experienced a spider that caused problems with plants. Certainly spider mites. You can shoot them with Castile soap mixture and it will likely kill them off if you think they may be damaging the plant.

Usually bottom hanging leaves. But I’ve found 3 big fan leaves that have been folded in on itself and turned into a cocoon and they were full of babies, a hundred of so. I still don’t want them using my plants as hatcheries.... right?

Could you share a pic of the whole plant?
I’m almost positive the leaves are not turning yellow because of the spiders.
Tell us more about the conditions the plant is in. It will most likely be caused by the conditions being sub optimal. Too much or too little: water, nutrients, sun, heat or cold. Are any of the other vegetation around the plants suffering from yellowing?
Spiders probably help keep away the insects that will eat your crop. Just have to be careful if those bite
