I've just started growing on my roof in Mexico. I have three plants started from nothing special seeds. Just to get the hang of it. I have three plants and the one in the middle looks radically different, not many leaves and many small budlets (?). Are these the dreaded pollen balls of a male plant? Please have look at the photo. Thanks, this is gonna be fun. Now I just have to plant cherry tomatoes and I'll have a really useful garden.

Yes it's a month old. This is just your standard run-of-the-mill Mexican puffing weed. I think it's just hardy and aggressive in it's desire to pollinate. That's why it's so cheap here, grows like weeds.

I'll be on the lookout for good seeds. Now I'm just getting my feet wet. I also started an outdoor crop on some vacant land nearby. I'm going to forget about it and check it when my roof plants are ready.

I have never seen a plant that young grow so many balls. That is one well hung young man.

That is one weird looking boy! I'd say he really stretched for the light and when put outside this time of year was induced to flowering immediately. He's got only 3-fingered leaves, and the top node with no leaves, and huge pollen sacks.

But what's the purpose anyway??? The weed that you grow will all be Mexican! :blsmoke:
