1 1/2 gal of fox farm ocean forest
1 1/2 gal fox farm happy frog
1/2 gal perlite
1/2 lb earthworm castings
1/2 individual brick of Coco coir
All in 5 gal smart pot
i will also b using sensi grow part a+b during veg for two months and lst, top, and a little lollipopping
and during flower i will b using bud candy

And quick question with the smart pots will the water leak out the side when i water my plant? Considering it's made of fabric

don't know about smart pots but if your gunna start with organic stay with organic. That is my rule of thumb. When you start mixing non organic with what you have already your bud will have a harsh chemical taste. Your soil composition sounds good but you will save money on components and nutes if you try a 1/3 cocoa coir 1/3 perlite 1/3 worm castings. Worm casting are so rich in nutes you can grow using just the castings. The cocoa retains water very well so dose the perlite because of the porus texture. However it airates the soil and allows for proper drainage

3:2:1: method 3 parts compost ,2 parts soil ,1 part aeration is the basic recipe .use this method and you will be golden

no point in using castings if you use bottled nutes. either buy bagged soil and use those bottles or build your soil

mine is peatmoss, coco, pumice, vermicompost

per cu ft.
½-¾ cup crab meal
½-¾ cup kelp meal
¼ cup neem seed meal
1 cup glacial rock dust
1 cup bentonite (volcanic) rock dust
1 cup basalt rock dust
1 cup oyster shell flour

mix up , water lightly, store in a tote for 4 weeks to cook (activate / break down / compost) then use.

I reuse all my soil too. No till gardening

What did i mix that was organic and non organic

you can use worm castings... Just make the tea the same way as with bat guano. You can use bone meal and fish meal. Those are a little bit more involved. Just keep an eye one the percentages of the nutes when you buy them. And as always if you don't know ask . That's what the guys that work there are supposed to know

1 1/2 gal of fox farm ocean forest = Is OK on its own with 30% of the pot perlite

1 1/2 gal fox farm happy frog = is too much here

1/2 gal perlite = great with FFOF reduce root compaction and to dilute hot soils(FFOF)

1/2 lb earthworm castings = FFOF or this not both

1/2 individual brick of Coco coir = adding this is bad, like moss and peat will act like a sponge and hold nutes that will burn your babe

All in 5 gal smart pot = expensive junk but if you want ...OK then

i will also b using sensi grow part a+b during veg for two months and lst, top, and a little lollipopping = JUNK like many new bottles of sewage

and during flower i will b using bud candy = JUNK like many new bottles of sewage

And quick question with the smart pots will the water leak out the side when i water my plant? Considering it's made of fabric
=use a cheap plastic 3-5 gallon pot allow 1x usgallon per month of growth

I like this, Hyroot has a shit load of Chitin in there thats vital for any form of bug control ...all that dust makes it easy for the water to sheed of the lil rocks

A close-up of the wing of a sap beetle; the wing is composed of chitin.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chitin

I heard ffof and ffhf are good together. .
so im guessing my soil is bad? I checked my ph and it's between 6-7 i can't really give a specific ph

No ...I'm saying hyroot, has a good anti bug mix, a ph of 6-7 is good for canna, and you won't get a specific ph reading in soil ...so relax

Why cant I accurately measure the ph of my soil?

The soil(potting mix) itself acts as a buffer between the roots of your plants and the nutes you have feed your plants
a halfway zone, attempting to measure this buffer is seen as crazy with soil growers, as it acts as above as a buffer
for this reason, this half way zone(unlike dwc guys) is forever changing, often with accurate ph testing, soil can change as much as 1.5 clicks just in 6 hours of the plant in the sun feeding, as the plant feeds, the plant changes its exacerbate to suit its feeding requirements, like you boofing down a burger fries and beer, you too change your excerbate(or digestive acid(sweat)) same with the plant but happens down deep at the root zone,
...bottomline is ..if you can grow mushrooms in a 2 year old mix ...you should be ok to grow canna in like 5-8 ph range is very tough other than when over fed

Nothing for now ...lets just get them thru veg,,..say 1-2 months ..if necessary use a very dilute form of bloom nute ...

but lets cross that bridge when you get there..?

Im sure I'll get there this my third grow. . It's just my first grow actually buying good soil and nutes and perlite n stuff like that. . My last plants where Good but i want better so now i spent the money. . I just wanna kno like what would your overall grade of my soil be? And what problems do you think it will cause (if any)
