And for everyone saying amare is a bad company, will you please suggest me lights that are already built that are better than because no one has really done that.
Haven't said Amare is a bad company or run by bad people, just saying it's just another light and not anything ground breaking.

You'll have to do your homework. you want to look at their price per watt compared to the parts they use.
I wouldn't buy anything that has parts older than the previous gen.
I wouldn't buy from a company that will not tell you their parts #'s and how hard they drive them, beware of secret spectrum's and parts.
Different companies have different approaches to their light design, get one that matches your grow style and grow area or one that is more adaptable. Bar type lights can be put in different configurations to fit odd shape or sized grow areas.

Sorry guys, I guess I'm bordering on being a dick today. My bad. Rare mood.
Just edited that post. I was wrong to say it like that.
Oh, what do guys mean about personal attacks? Not quite sure I follow.
If he's trying to get another light that adapts best to his SE-350, it would be another from the same company, no?

I think amare's are good, but there are better options out there.
Then what are the better options! I have no current opinions being it is only my third indoor grow. I know my amare is currently working well, but I want to know what will grow bigger plants, the amare or the 600 or 900 watt timber.
And also I would love to hear the options that are better than amare. Trying to do research is almost impossible because I am not that experienced yet. My lush light is taking a crap, so I want to know the truly best option here, not so much based off of price but the actually functiallity and growing ability of the light.

> As you all are aware, you can't DIY for less or would be very hard-pressed.

Are you speaking from experience here or hearsay? You are the only one on this forum I've seen that doesn't think COBs are the most economical fixture. Premades are great and I'm glad people are providing this service for others who don't have the knowledge or time for such projects but they have to mark up their products or they won't make any money from providing said service.
Building an LED light is a LOT like building a custom PC. You can go the console route (Amare), you can go pre-built (iBuyPower, Alienware, etc), or you can build the whole damn thing yourself and save a lot of money if you have the time to figure out something like this.

You've already got the Amare lights, go build a COB fixture of the same wattage and do a side-by-side so we at least have some anecdotal evidence.

Timber Framework kits in my opinion.

The best light emitters you can buy are COB lights. The best COBS are CLU048-1818, Vero 29 Generation 7, and Luminus CXM22. I don't put CXB3590's in this list because they are good, but old and overpriced. The most economical COB in my opinion is the CLU048 because you can get one with a holder for $18.50 on northerngrowlights.

If you want a premade fixture, look for one with any of the three products above because they are all relatively new and outperform everything else. The timber one people are recommending has Vero 29 gen 7 which is a very good light and I also recommend it. I personally think you'll be putting everything else in storage or craigslist after using that new timber light.

that Vero29 Timber kit will destroy the Amare. 2x3 times more power. more efficient. 1gpw all day long, 1.5gpw when you get it dialed in.

Is the 600w timber with the vero still more powerful than the amare?
Two Pro-4's = 800w
That is the configuration I chose as it's very, very hard to beat the output, coverage & spectrum.
I'll show you a PPFD in a 4'6" x 4'6" area using to Pro-4's tonight. Even coverage of high #'s w/ versatility & a true full spectrum.
They are designed to give the best coverage out all their lights in a 4'-5' area.

I do t hate you Stephen. Not at all. I actually used to defend you against GG all the time.
But please, help me understand.
Was it not a personal attack you made on Amare when you decided to steal their logo?
Having a hard time understanding why you say I'm personally attacking you?
Just sticking to the facts here.
They are all that matters, right?

Did a search for Amare led. The fifth link in the search was to a grow journal of an Amare SE450. You can see it HERE.

The guy started off thinking he had an amazing light, especially considering how expensive it was and the expectations he had for all that money spent.

By the end of his journal he compared it directly with a Mars 1200 he also had. The yields were very similar but he was very unimpressed with the quality of the the Amare grown buds. They were larfy and not very big. His Amare cost $700 more than the Mars and he got almost identical yields. His results are on page 11, post #152.

Here are a few quotes from his journal.
"Appearance and smoke wise, I think I enjoyed my Mars grown buds better."

"I think to flower a 4x4 denser I would need to hang my Amare as close as the Mars was; at 18-20 inches, and accept a smaller footprint."
"So I feel a little misled, like Amare has focused too much on the center umol number to say it's intense enough to cover a 4x4."
"To summarize, the Amare SE450 pros are more efficient power use, fuller spectrum, I believe slightly faster growth and slightly more frosting. Cons are that it's hella expensive and over-rated for a 4x4 so I still need to spend more $$ on more lighting. I'm having a hard time re-justifying the expense when I could buy two Mars 1200's for less and yield twice as much for just $25 extra on the electric bill per month."

I'm not saying the Amare is no better than a Mars. I'm just saying, don't listen to all the bullshit about how supplemental reds and blues and IR/UV turn a light into some kind of superlight. 95% of your yield and quality will come from your growing skills and genetics. As long as you're getting the recommended amount of PPFD on your canopy you will be golden. This is why I would recommend a cheaper light than the Amare. Any of the Johnson, NGL, Timber etc are great lights and if you contact the owners of those light systems they will advise you what light they make will suit your space the best. Good luck with whichever you choose.

If it's the actual logo I got it from Vista Print lol

Besides we are moving to Horticulture Lighting Group.

You just use any excuse to attack me.

You act like there is brand confusion going on or something.....

I guess solawrap stole there's from Amare too.

You just look for excuses to attack my company and I'm tired of it.

Just keep your tale out of my buisness and I'll steer clear of you.

Read the thread again grasshopper. The better options are right there for you.

One thing to consider is how long the company has been in business.

There are so many flash in the pans and pop ups trying to sell lights it's very easy to get lost in the mix.

Do they have a FULL Warranty? In business more than 5 years? Are they using current tech? Results?

Yeah a ton of questions to think about....This is the reason I said fuck it and built my own DIY COB.

Yeah it took a lot of researching and finding deals for the pieces I wanted for the light.

I have $370 into a 4x3590CXB light custom built to my area the light puts out over 75k lux at 24"

Now that might not mean much, but move it down to 18" and your at sun levels over 100k lux.

That's with 3 3500K and one 2700K and 250w MW driver that I cannot turn up all the way in the small space lol. I can run it maybe 150w on the plants......prices have fallen some since then with more new tech coming out monthly it seems. I can tell you this much most of the cost is going to be the driver and the chips for the light.
