Is there a rough calculation on the amount of water a plant will consume ?

This question has been on my mind and i wondered if anyone knew a technique to estimate water usage in hydroponic system??

I understand that plants of differing size consume at different rates thought there might be an estimation based on height / weight or some other method ??

My reasoning is to work out how long my tank will last in terms of water ?? Roughly..... I have equipment but i'm buying a tank which needs to keep my plants watered for 2 weeks(12 Plants which start at 12 Inches, 8 Weeks from clones). They will consume a lot at the end I know.

Guess that someone might have ran this experiment at some point ???? Any thoughts.

Room temp would be about 78f ish, if evaporation is a consideration

i run 12 plant systems with 50gal res's and the most i can go after week 3-4 is about 8-9 days. i would not be comfortable with anything less than 100gal for what you are asking.
