skunk is a kind of weed. cannabis is the scientific name or weed, and marijuana is the common appropriate name or weed. Marijuana is what its really called. Cannabis is what doctors and stuff call it.
It's just prohibitionist media bullshit. Skunk is just a strain of cannabis, and the 5/10/100 times stronger shit is an outright lie.

skunk is a breed of of cannabis super silver haze is much stronger than skunk, but the goverment dont think the name super silver haze sounds bad enough so thay class all cannabis that is grown theses days as "skunk" because for the people who are not in the know SKUNK sounds bad. picture an old woman saying "you kids to day smoke that stinking skunk" and now think of the old woman sayin "you kids tday smoke that super silver haze" wich sounds worse? thats why they use the name skunk to help their bull shit war no drugs.
why not call all weed northen lights? that's what changed the cannabis seen- skunk came after northen lights, but skunk is not as strong as northen lights

The different between skunk and cannabis is not only the name some of my friends say that skunk is cannabis with vary vary small dose of heroine but i dont think its true because i have never had physical crisis after smoking it (ofc i had psychical crisis) but with consuming the smallest dose of heroine few times ull become addicted. The different i have senced between those two is that the skunk doesnt stink like the normal canabis or ganja whatever u would like to call it, u almost cant smell it and when i take care for 10 $ sometimes my dealer gives me alot of ganja and sometimes he gives me small amount of it and he is always saying that that is skunk and i put small dose when i roll it and got stoned... so i think there is a different between those two...

i think your hookup/friends told you some bs so you wud keep coming back. nobody is goona waste heroine to sell weed..... wtf? why would they waste money like that to seel something of lesser value? your guy is taxing you when he gets some skunk (just some potent weed) and hooks you up fatter when he has some mid grade bud. just doesnt add up.. or make any sence wat so ever to me bro?

While they each can mean different things but they can all mean the same thing, just know who is using the word and their Marijuana IQ and you will know what they mean....I wouldn't lose any sleep over it...

cannabis is the more formal name for it, mj is a originall mexican name for it. and skunk isnt just a strain the the uk, skunk is mj classed as having at least a thc content of 20% , and they did re-brand mj as skunk as it sounds more evil and threatening
