is there a big difference between mh and hps for veg. or not that much

Metal Halide, especially 6500k, emits more of the blue spectrum and is ideal for photosynthesis and chlorophyll production. HPS can't compete in the spectrum arena but yes, it puts out more lumens and is ideal for flowering due to the lower kelvin output that simulates the late summer/harvest time sunlight. Even still, I never understood why people use HPS for their entire grow....beginning to end.

I doesnt seem to me that there is a big difference. Im not that experienced though. I use both HPS and MH during both veg and flower. It works just fine.

This is my first grow and i've been using hps the whole way started em under a 400watt now there veggie under a 400 and 1000watt and they look great and are full.

Wow that makes a lot of sense.....I think your falling in the "short bus" category, arguing the fact that a small investment like a light bulb isnt worth it for people who are saving hundreds even thousands a year by growing their own and you say buying an 80$ bulb isnt worth it? economics is the answer?.....your funny!
and I do agree stems dont smoke well neither do leaves, but they do feed, shelter and keep safe what you like to smoke so often.....so everyone knows (not just my little happy helper friend teaching all the noobs) healthy stems and leave are important for strong buds, MH bulbs produce the strongest stems and leaves possible
