I've been thinking about growing but one thing that concerns me is am I going to get caught. I'm wondering what kind of footprint im leaving when I use the computer. I mean if i'm looking up information about growing and shit are the cops really going to come knocking on my door is that enough for them to warrant a search if I'm researching alotttttttttttttt. My friend the other day was like "oh if you look up growing online and your power bill goes up soon they will know" he continued to say "They know if youre using timers, they will see that youre on a 24/0 or a 12/12." To me he sounds a little crazy...
I was trying to calculate the power bill, however I have an issue... it's not my house I went to the PG&E site and looked up a zip around where I live (I live in California) and calculated the cost.. it said about 30$ for a 400w for 24 hours and 15$ for 12/12... but I've heard people say up to 50-80$. That doesn't seem like that big of a spike to me..hell my xbox 360 and my projector probably cost more than that considering I run that shit all day music blasting lol....sorry kinda digressed.

OPINIONS? anyone from cali know how much a 400w runs them a month?

Yea, i went to PGE.com its a power company... this calc said for 15cents a kw which is the top of the spectrum that it would be like 40$... not too bad

my bill fluctuates ALL the time i mean from 200 to 45 $!!!
and actually its cheaper?! (we run a 150 watt hps with built in ballast. and the irrigation system )

even do an actual reading sometimes
they estimate.. so really they arent going to spend enough time to look at everyones bill that has a spike.. i dont
think that i have ever heard of someone

I got all my supplies first built my room second started my grow third read this site the HOLE time never posted till up and going and had first two bills on record no probs at all just dont be a dumbass been messing with indoor growing for 3 months got serious about a month ago all good th people on here bar none best to get to know

Don't forget don't just factor in bulbs...add fans (de)humidifiers pump(s) tub heaters (if hydro) and anything else that you are running extra.

I agree a 400 and in dirt...yea you will have no worries pending you don't tell everyone about it. I always figured it this way...the more people that I told the more risk and worse yet...they'll wanna smoke that shit too!
