Howzit my friends.

Is this white widow clone ready to change to flowering cycle ?

Also, if I take a cutting to clone her, will I need to give her time to recover ?

Thanks very much for your advice, it is much appreciated.

A LOT more light, and about another month of veg, IMO will give you a decent plant, but.
you can flip now if you want, but the plant will not start flowering until it is ready.
Be patient, veg for a while, and you will be rewarded.

I wait until I get pre flowers b4 I even want to flower early. If you take a cutting you don't need to wait for a recover, but if you do take a cutting I'd wait because that's a bud shoot you took away. It looks like you got about 5 nodes total. That's just the right amount b4 I'd top her. So like bakatare said wait another month. And what is you lighting ?

Some people do like you, but depending on space/ light, like I did this time around, I vegged one 2 weeks, and 4 plants 12/12.
I was 'assuming' out of 5 non fem beans, I would get the rule of thumb, at least 50% male, (but going by a chart a buddy gave me, I tested it AGAIN), I got 100% ladies, and I ended up short on room, so I couldn't afford to veg them like I would have liked to.:-|

Thanks very much guys. This is my third indoor grow but, strangely enough, the first time that I have vegged under lights. Both the previous times I had to took plants that were already flowering outdoors and put them under lights for 6 weeks or so.

I have only just managed to set up a permanent grow room, so I am now super stoked that I can finally do a seed to harvest crop indoors.

I dropped my light a bit this morning and I can already see the difference in the plants, it is quite remarkable what a difference it has made.

May I also ask, if those banks of fluorescent on the side will make a big difference. I am having a bit of a problem with heat. The room goes between 70 - 85f, as I do not have an extractor in place yet, so I have to go and open the door and change the air every few hours. I know that fluorescents are not supposed to put out too much heat, but I can notice the difference.

The main bulb is a 600w plantastar.20131210_073523.jpg

yes she is ready whenever. if you start flowering now she could triple in size. she isn't even close to max size for that container and will also likely do some stretch during flower. that plant will be over 3 feet tall if you flower it now.

as far as the fluorescent sidelighting goes it will add a small amount of additional side branching.

Ditch the side lighting and move the 600w closer to the plants. I'd keep the bulb about 1 to 2 feet from the tops of the closest plant. Right now looks like you have over 3 feet between plants and the light.

That hid light needs to be dropped down alot more.It should be about 18 inches from the top of the canopy.

I would top the plant first and then place the light at the proper distance for at least 2 weeks to get new growth at the topping point. You may be able to top some of the other larger branches as well but it is hard for me to tell, next time take the pictures in regular light or with a flash without the HID on. As for light placement there is a good rule of thumb, place your hand palm down at the top of your plants. If it is uncomfortable for the back of your hand it is too hot for your plants, adjust often if necessary.

Okay first off the original question "Is it ready?" Clones can be flipped anytime. No need to wait until it's mature. That's if you got the clone from a reputable grower. Clones are usually only taken from mature mother plants or from clones from other clones that are of known maturity. I can put any clone I take directly into flower after it roots. This is common with sea of green growing. More plants of a smaller size producing a single top or cola.
I cut clones pretty much the day they go into flower. No problems what so ever.
With all that said I veg for 1-2 months before switching.
Here is some pictures of my most recent grows. 4 crops at different stages. the buds are Pine Tar Kush, Lambs Breath Sour Diesel and Shipwreck respectfully. For the most part I get around 3-4 lbs a month. All from topping and super cropping. The last bud is a trainwreck bud!

Thanks very much for your advice. I will remember to take photos without the HID on. I had come curling of the edges of the leaves, so I presumed that the light was too hot. I dropped it yesterday and the plants are thriving. I will drop again this morning. Thanks again, have a great day.

Thanks BeastGrow. I am dropping the light this morning. I am also gonna use those side flourescents for something else, for now. Much appreciated, keep well !!

Thanks Big Bud. I am dropping the lights this morning. We have had some serious rain last night. I am praying that my room has not been flooded. I am going down now.... fingers crossed.

Room got flooded last night with heavy rain. The whole town is wrecked. Worst rain in 10 years.

Lucky I took precautions and lifted everything up.

Dropped the lights and am now playing the waiting game .....
