Is she ready to clone?

This OG clone was grown in rockwool; this past weekend I planted her in a good soil mixture (she will be a mother) and she has her own full spectrum light.

I am counting nodes but want to be EXTRA sure that she is mature enough to clone. I just want one clipping to put in an empty space in my Marogarden (props to Tek!). :joint:

Do ya'll think she's ready?

Nah.. Make sure you have her on something between 18/6 and 24.
You need to wait a few weeks.
Looks like you could get the lights alot closer..
Sorry to knok but your soil looks drenched..
I set my mom in a window so she would stretch first.

She has branches with 3-4 nodes and the branches are prob 5-8" long..

The longer you veg her before clones the easier this is going to be.
She will be healthier thus the clones will be as well.

Happy growing

midgrade, you think the soil looks too wet? i just potted it Sunday, and she is inside a larger rockwool cube. I used a good soil recipe and weighed her (meaning, picked up the entire pot) before and after I watered.

...and more the light closer? Even though it's about 6 inches from the top right now?

I assuming it's a CFL since you said full spectrum, you should be able to get that within an inch or two from the top of the plant without harming it at all.

Yep, it's a CFL...this is my first grow, so I was skerred to put the light too close...but I bow to this group's wisdom!

Off to move the light closer...

HELP! I moved the CFL closer, and now look at her!
Did I move it too close? The leaves were not touching the lamp at all.
To the touch, her branches do not feel limp, just the leaves and, as you can see, the new sprouts.

What did I do wrong, and what can I do to heal her?

I just checked the soil...it's cool and moist.
I did put her on a timer, and yesterday/today her lighting schedule changed from 24 to 18/6. Could that be it?

I moved the lamp, half way between its original position and where I moved it to the other day. I haven't watered it, it's still on 18/6. From the pic, you can see that the soil is starting to dry out.

I wonder if the rockwool combined with the perlite in the soil mix retained too much water in the pot? (she was in a large square of rockwool when I bought her; she had a couple roots coming out of the bottom of the square when I planted her)

Nah it got too wet. I did not see any burnt leaves.
Cfl's need to be within 2" plant top and or sides. (depending on the wattage not comparable watts)
It does look like it is pulling through though.

You will need to accomidate with a fan directly on your plant.
You also need good exhaust as well.

Once it starts to recover from the flood it will start growing.
You will need to adjust the distance of the cfl's accordingly.

wop, it is. would be also a good time to top her as well. the top you can then use to clone;)

i take little tiny cuttings.

Looks like the lady is on the mend!

I took her out of the soil and pointed a small fan at the rockwool; she dried up in no time. I clipped the visibly wilting leaves, and gave her some Co2; she perked up a bit.

When the rockwool was dry, I gave her plain pH-corrected water (6.5) until the rockwool was damp, and now I won't water her again until its dry (bought a water meter too--try not to rag on me too bad about that!).

Perhaps I should put a small radio in the closet with her and play some reggae...

She's getting there! I can see new sprouts coming out of the top nodes (yippee!!) so I think she has turned the corner. To me it looks like she's "lost weight" because I had to clip the larger fan leaves (they were wilting), but I'm hoping a little love will nurse her back....I've read that this kind of comeback makes for a bushier, layered plant. Is that true? If it is, that would be great because I want to make her a mother.
