is miracle grow seed starting soil safe?

I planned on using the seed starting soil by MG and then transplanting into MG organic choice(the brownish yellow bag) and add perlite, vermaculite, and dolomite lime pellets to the MG organic choice soil.

^ Sorry but that's rubbish. If the Miracle Grow where you live (I assume in the US) resembles anything like the MG we have here in the UK, it is NOT suitable for growing cannabis in! Miracle Grow have a piss poor reputation and should be avoided at all costs IMO.

Shows that what anyone here says, there is always someone to immediately contradict - never any consistency at all. What is a poor noob to think??

MG - some love it, some (who have probably never tried) hate it. I can´t buy it here so have no idea.

anyone else?? bump
I have used the seed starting mix with pretty good results actually. You can do OK with MG in general. It isn't the best stuff out there, to be sure, but it's not like it's poison for cannabis or something. As mentioned above, some swear by it while most swear at it. Best of luck and happy growing.:blsmoke:

Have you used it? I'll bet not because you buy into the BS. consider the fact that Miracle Grow has spent millions on researching soils and plant growth and that they offer several different types of soil for different applications, and they bag perlite, vermiculite, offer great fertilizers that have fantastic results....

You can diss it all you want, but for a new grower, it takes the guess work out of manually feeding plants. There are many a grower who swear by it.

Miracle Grow will work but you might as well consider the soil "Dead" after you have harvested your crop.

That is the major problem with chemical fertilizers, they leave so much salt buildup in the soil that any micro organisms that are in your soil can't possibly survive.

I personally use my own compost mixed with ph balanced peat moss, perlite, garden lime, and Roots Organics soil to supplement it. Also after I finish a grow I will then add my soil back into my compost pile for the next time I grow. I don't use MG because I can't ever get that salt buildup out of the soil and therefore can't grow well because of it.

But you could also just buy fresh MG Soil for every grow.

MG does work and works very well but I personally think Scott's/ MG is a terrible company and do you really want to grow your buds in something that can also be used to make bombs?

I hope that last question was in jest, lol. Do you have any idea, whatsoever, what it would take to separate the mix and obtain enough fertilizer to make a bomb?

well ya I dont plan on re using the soil. Im jus trying to have my first sucessful grow. Here is my plan. I was gonna use the mg seed starting mix until its 2nd or 3rd set of tru leaves and then transplant to either MG organic choice or black gold all purpose mix.<<(adding perlite, vermaculite, and some garden lime to whichever one I chose)
