Is Martha's Vineyard a sanctuary city for hypocrites ?

I’m sure the metaphor police here are pissed off about this:

“They were spun a series of lies. Some of the people were told they were going to New York. Others were told they're going to other cities in the country. People were told that they were headed towards an immigration meeting and this would facilitate their claim. Almost everyone, I think, was told that they would be immediately met with housing and jobs and that people would be here to greet them.

These are all lies. And it all speaks to just how incredibly cruel the governor of Florida is and the people and Republicans helping him“

"A bombshell new poll just found that his Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is trailing his Democratic challenger Charlie Crist among independent voters by a whopping 13 points. I guess being a racist, homophobic, xenophobic prick isn’t quite working out for the Trump wannabe!"

Oregon thanks desantis for using an Oregon company to transport the migrants to Martha's Vineyard. While not a huge amount Oregon will still generate some taxes from the Oregon based company. That tax money can be used to provide abortion services to women that are unable to get the medical services they need in states like Florida. Oregon is a blue state and we have no problem profiting off of the taxpayers in red states.

Thanks again ronnie. If you need anymore ways to waste Floridians tax dollars please don't hesitate to use Oregon businesses for that endeavor.

What poll is that? Every poll I've seen shows DeSantis ahead of Crist.

There is also the fact that desantis violated Florida law. The publicly funded program that was authorized by the Florida legislature was for migrants transported from Florida which was a requirement. These migrants were in Texas because they didn't have any in Florida that just crossed the border. Florida does not share a border with Mexico. desantis is just grandstanding. He's bovine dung. He just shot off a foot for short term gain with the far right base. He'll never be President. He's 100% confirmed asshole.

I'm an admitted asshole myself and proud. But I have limits. He's a factor of 10 beyond me. The things some people do are just so wrong. Treating human beings as props, lying to them for a photo op and blurb in the news, nothing any self respecting man would do. The guy is pure scum.

While I'm no fan of De Santis, I feel compelled to point out that "illegal aliens" are illegal.
Nope, I'm not a fan of De Santis or any Governor for that matter, but a smart guy like you might not want to pursue the "but but, it's illegal" line of debate. Just sayin'.

I hope I haven't offended you, sure would hate it if you sprayed citric acid in my eyes! :bigjoint:

What's Illegal is kidnaping migrants and human trafficking them north against their will. Or are you now OK with forcing people against their will?...

I don't care what's "illegal or legal". Those are always movable goal posts based on the whims of your masters.

I care what is right and wrong based on consistent principles. Would you say it's okay to violate the consent of a peaceful person, even if it were made legal to do so?

I didn't think you would answer. You do think it is okay to violate the consent of a person, even if they are peaceful. I'm a little disappointed in you.
You seem to indicate is OK to violate some peaceful persons but not OK the ones you approve of...what's that called?...

I would have thought you’d find borders repugnant and be against restricting the freedom of people to peacefully travel around the globe.

Yes. I'm not in favor of government plantations and their borders or their slave travel passes.

I am in favor of many private borders, for instance if you found me camped out in your livingroom wearing your sex playtime costume I found in your bottom drawer and smoking the last of your weed, I would admit I had violated your borders.
