Is just regular plant-pots better, or

would something like aerogrow-aerogarden work better then that? im guessing pots would be good for the larger plants, im just curious though. (im literally a first timer here xD)

and also, would a 3 by 7 foot closet work well for a growing area, and what type of lighting should i have if i go with the closet?

You are talking to different things, one way is growing in soil and the other is hydroponic. You should stick with one or the other.

The closet should be fine. I'd start with soil but that is only my opinion. I do just fine with soil but when it comes to hydro I'm still working at it. With the aerogarden you might have better luck since it comes as a package, lots of links on people using it here.

I'd say get some decent soil like promix and start out in soil. In soil if you mess up you kill one plant, in hydro you kill everything.

Yes, I believe la is right. I am also doing pretty well with soil right now, and I will try to perfect my technique before moving to hydro. Good Luck!

Definitely buy some mason jars. You can find a 12 pack of quart jars bottle size for $17 shipped on ebay. If you need more than that, you have a good problem.
