Is it worth cloning purple og #18?
I need someone with experience with this strain to enlighten me with its characteristics.
It was a freebie seed and its growing very nice, but I need to know "is it worth it?" 8)

Reserva privada puts out some good genetics so I'd say go for that shit. I'm running of purple og number 18, it's not the purple Phoenix but it puts out good quality bud and a lot of it.

Dude all ways save a clone, you never know it may be something you like or have a trait you like ,eg,the way it's growing is very nice.

But if it's a feminized seed then I would not advice any one to keep clones from a feminized seed,in the end it will produce seed.

Take the hate for fem outta here mate, ive grown from fem and reg both for years and theres no diff except less variation in a fem. Science says fems are 100% viable just like you can clone from a clone. Stop regurgitation of old crap that means nothing. If you don't want beans from hermies check your plants on an individual basis and stop stressing them.

Is almost as annoying as people blaming miracle grow for killing their first plants.

Absolutely take a cutting of any new thrivey plant to enter your garden mates, if it grows well for your style you might like the smoke too, if you dont end up liking it you can toss it after the fact easy

I've always taken clones from a fem seed. For years Ive had a mother and never produced seeds, at the moment I have tangie ghost clones from last year and yet to produce a single seed. I'm right there with you LordRalh3 its all based on your growing skills to not stress your plants.
As this being said I will most likely add this purple og #18 to my collection for in hopes that it will produce luscious buds for year or so

Honestly you cant tell in veg if you want to keep it around or not. it can give you an idea but realistically until you see how it flowers and what the final product you wont know if its worth keeping. I would recommend if you have the lighting / space / plant count if your in a legal state to take 2-3 clones right before flower. Then as that one flowers veg the 3 out and keep the most vigorous one or all 3 if you like. Then when your done flowering the other one you will have a fully vegged copy('s) of that plant that you can either Flower / cut clones / or trash. there is also the possibility of revegging the orginal but I would always recommend taking the clone early to avoid future regret of losing the genetics.

also keep up with the bushyness, you have a sexy healthy looking plant there

Side note, have you been doing any LST ? I would recommend it, it helped guide this into this

So keeping clones from mother plants that came from feminized seeds gives you a high chance for balls? First time hearing this. Can you point out some evidence to support this? I have multiple clones going from a female seeded mother plant. They made it through the first round hermie free. But if this is the case, I would like to educate myself.
Thanks,

The seeds are made by getting a female to produce male flower ,the seeds are made from a hermie,,a female pollinating its self .female regular plants can turn on you but it is far more un likely, unless there bad seeds or are stressed in some way,I have had a few of my strains for years this can't be done with feminized seeds,

You clone a feminized seed and you will get seeds ,talk to any good breeder and they will advice you the same feminized seeds are a way of doing a grow then starting a gain from seed,if you are after cloneing get the same strains in reg.some where in a ,feminized seed there is that hermie trait just waiting for the slightest chance to show its self,

I have been seen and done cloneing feminized seeds ,and in the end you all ways get seeds.do it and you will see,I don't just comment un less it's something that I have done my self, when I first started growing it's what I did, look into the talks Dj short sub cool dna do on why not to clone feminized seeds on you tube,or send mr cerventis a message on his page he go into it in more depth,it would turn into a book if I posted all the info.
