if you cut the stalk and hang it upside down the thc runs from the stems and stalk to the buds?
sounds far fetched to me but then again that is gravity...
would I lose any potency by just cutting the buds off and letting them dry or could i really increase potency by hanging the whole plant upside down?

think of it like this:
THC is non water soluble right? so if there was substantial amounts of THC in ur stalks and stems, it would choke ur plant of water and kill it,
personally i cut off my buds, trim them and then hang them to dry ur stalks have the least THC in ur plant, probably less than 1% so that wouldn't even be worth smoking
and u don't really gain or lose potency after the final chop if u dry and cure right, curing really brongs out flavors and converts the cannabinoids that are not THC into THC so u shouldn't really worry about how u decide to hang it but how u dry and cure it to prevent mould, and making the smoke smoother and getting those buds looking delicous!
