is it too late to pollinate??

I have heard that it takes six weeks for seeds to mature and become viable. Will these plants live that long if they are already 5 or 6 weeks into flower?? They are pretty healthy now (I think) Will the pollen be able to penetrate the resin to form seeds?? Any thoughts?? Or should I just cut em and smoke em...lol

Has it actually been 5-6 weeks since you spotted flowers? those look fairly new. I think you have plenty of time.

Well, if he has a good strain that he is happy with and wants some seeds to either put away for awhile or to stabilize further, he needs to pollinate. He is what may be known as a breeder. Someone who experiments with crossing strains or is refining a good strain.

Or, maybe he likes seeds in his joints? :o

Not all weed is grown to smoke.... hard to believe eh? LOL

You don't have to pollinate the entire plant. You can keep the male in another room, harvest some pollen (there are threads that show you how to do this), and selectively pollinate single branches while allowing the rest of the buds to mature. If you have more than one strain of pollen, you can even pollinate different branches with different pollen. If you do decide to pollinate the entire plant, you can get a huge amount of seeds. I got over 600 seeds on what was in reality a small white widow plant. And by the way, after you remove the seeds, the leftover weed isn't horrible. You can still get high off of it, but I prefer to use it to make brownies.

BTW, I like having a large supply of good seeds in my fridge ready to go. I've have virtually 100% germination rate with these WW seeds, maybe because they are so fresh, with a rate of consistently around 60% female. It is nice to not have to worry about whether one of my precious seeds with germinate, not when you have six hundred of them! Sometimes I keep them in beer cups until I can determine the sex, then I repot. If not this, sometimes I repot them two to a pot, chopping any males that appear after this. With this method you grow more plants, but maybe don't get as much off of each plant.

ur plant looks like its about a month into flowering...when you polinate the hairs that have been polinated should die...you should start seeing the seed form in a week. seeds finish in about 1.5 to 2 months your plant should be ok
