roof of tent.

ok only diff here is you odnt have sealed hoods to have filter infront as i do. hook your fan and filter together and bow out the top., only hose it needs is going out the tent from one end of fan, other end of fan has the filter mounted to it. hang it across with straps or like i did to the top bars they come with to hang this stuff by.

no i have this way as my air needs to go through all my hoods before going out so i have to have filter before hoods. you dont have this style hood so mount the fan and filter right to each other...have the filter tapped or screwed to the sucking side of the fan. add the silver hose to the blowing end and put the other end of silver hose out the hole on top. hang all this fan and filter above the light. dont need to be right to roof but heat rises so higher will draw out more of the hot humid air better. with my set up and the 600 in there i have a temp meter set to my fans. and barley even comes on all day

My honest opinion on your first attempt is not to topp them , these are my reasons ,
1 you will not gain any yeild , the plant will split the main cola into 4 or 2 cola's but they will add the same in weight as 1 main cola,
2 you have no height restrictions 7ft is plenty ,
3 Keep your first grow as simple as possible , do the simple things right ,
Follow this and listen to good advice you will be ok ,
Reading is good , loads of info out there , just remember its not the same as actually putting into practice , you will learn from your mistakes everyone does , but you can limit them ....

I didn't realize this was your first grow.. id have to agree with Clonex and say I would keep it simple... I disagree that the yeild will be the same though...That would somewhat defeat the whole purpose of topping in the first place.... There are a few benefits of topping ... 1 is for minimum height space (topping can keep plants short but very bushy) 2. Topping increases your yeild especially topping to get 2 or 4 mains... By topping to get 2 or 4 colas, The colas will all be the same size as a cola on a non topped plant.. topping to get any more than 4 colas will result in smaller colas....

i dont understand what you mean inline fan?

I just have a fan that circulates air inside of tent when door is shut

Temps are going to 84F

Do you leave it open most of the time? Same as the top fan taking air out. Some have one blowing air in from the bottom. Whats the cfm of the exhaust fan? That might be enough to suck fresh air in when the box is closed. Just make sure theres a way fresh air can get into the box when its closed.

its a 4 inch and no i leave it shut always i dont have one blowing in air. What if i put a fan on the outside of the tent but blowing into one of the holes at the side of it ?

the is called an active system. a passiive is one you run as is now. having a fan at an intake to ease the work load on the inside fan is an active system. even if its just that cip fan at one of the intake holes at the bottom..and open all the lower vent holes to allow easier flow. 4 inch fan just isnt quite enough to cool it without a seeled hoods or cool tube.
and as buddy above says keep the door closed to test temp. make it semi sealed except the intake holes. then we gain negative pressure so it creates more vacume to help draw out hot air better
you may need a full 4 inch for an intake or swap out the 4 you have for a 6 inch to work better, getting that room tight is number one., if you dont then you will have to run the light way up to far and get less from the plant and fluffy buds and stretched out...84 is tollerable also.
how far above plant tops is the light. hard to judge in the pic...you did set that up as i was sayin, so good deal.

Those plants are not ready for 12/12 , the pots are big , let the root system fill the pots or you just as well left them in small pots , also , your asking qustions i already answered for you at the start of the thread , an inline fan is the opposite to you exhaust fan , it brings in fresh air , instead of exhausting fresh hot air out , i told you that creating a passive intake hole at the foot of your tent (no inline fan needed) , in front of this hole have a normal small fan sucking in the cool air from the passive hole , because you are running an exhaust , you will create a small vacum in your tent that will suck in the fresh air, it's important to have it as low as possible , you can also achieve this with an inline fan , or even aircool your bulbs , the way i have explained is the quick fix"bring it down a couple of degrees , also imo 84* is too high ,between 70 - 75 would be better.

he dosent have the light power to let them go. waste of time to grow tall lanky plants with no light for them. his inline he has is that exhaust fan. to cold bud. nutes are designed to work better at a bit higher temp. its not a world of diff but ive run 84 long time and been just fine. we all grow diff so may be fine for him and not you. stomata are more open higher temp thus more processing happens

He is a first time grower , you know as well as i do its alot to take in , he has a 600w hps , thats plenty for that tent , forget nutes , he needs to get his light the right height , get his temps sorted , and then take on the advanced stuff , ideal temps are 21*c (69.8*f) -- 26*c(78.8*f) .... my advice is sound.

not 69..anything below 70 slows foods big time and below 60 stop totaly. i run 77 to 84...but my room. each room is diff and each plant. i would ever go below mid 70`s and the 84 id say is peek
i was trying to get the room set..i wasnt doin anything about more yet??..all ive done was explained the venting to get light closer...dont know where all the other you say i did is posted but it wasnt me. im explaing what the diff terms and types are is about it???..because hes a first timer...

Those temps are bang on for any cannabis plant in what ever room/tent/closet, it was not a guess, there was no digging at you , i can see your helping him , all's good , im merely saying he has the light , the space , to let them go , nutes are not designed to work better at your suggested temps ? were on earth did you read that , if i see something inaccurate , i will correct , if i have the knowledge , im sharing it....
