is it time to cut the lights or go bigger ???

i have an area of 3' x 3' with 5 plants in 2 gallon pots. running aprox 300 watts of cfls with 180 watt led. My northern lights are aprox 9 to 10" tall right now and looking very healthy. With the space i have i dont want to wait to much longer and have the plants get to big for the area. quanity is not important quility is important. What do you guys think ? go bigger or cut lights to 12 hours now...Thanks

I believe most strains including NL will grow 2x to 3x their height at the point when you switch over to flowering. I'm wondering how old your ladies are and if they're showing any signs of sex. Although I think it would be a good time to flip unless you can somehow get a bigger grow space, height wise at least lol.

id cut the lights, put in 12/12 and i wouldnt let them get to big cuz the roots wont have enough room if you kept going, my situation is about the same but i got a lil more room, there about 12" now, and i just dropped to 12/12 today, but imma go 36 hours dark first to speed up the process.

Does the 36 hour technique really work? I always though it was some myth. Good point about switching cause of the pot size. Rootbound is a bitch, especially in the last few weeks of flowering.

Lol, i learned how troublsome rootbound is my last grow and yeah slows growth to a halt, the 36 hour thing seems to help, but hoenstly i dont see a really notable difference, if anything it might shave a day off but usually with the indica strain i keep it takes about 7 days normal and about 5 with the 36 hours, but it seems to slow the vertical growth and like you said they should double in size fast, sativa usually alot more sometimes 3x bigger.

so im thinking im going to cut the light this weekend but now im worried about the pot size ??? should i of gone to maybe a 3 gallon or should 2 gallon be ok if i cut the lights now ???

I agree with the rest....cut the lights. 3x3 space will fill up fast on you. Good luck!
