is it possible to veg under time 15on 9 off?

At the equator, it's 12-12 all the time. In Florida it's 14-10 on June 21st. ln BC it's 16-8 on June 21st. Of course you can grow on 15-9... You just have to decide if you want to. I start at 17-7, drop an hr. every couple weeks. Wind up 15-9 before switching. It's not a big deal.

And when somebody insists it should be 18-6 to get more light, ask them why they're not on 19-5?

I'm curious as to what type of fan you're running if you're worried about your neighbors hearing it through the walls?

ive run several trials on different strains using 18/6 up to 24/0
the only real difference is stretch, i never studied the 15/9 but i would guess its the same just a bit more stretch between nodes..if you want tight nodes 24/0 is better than 20/4 just as 20/4 is better than 18/6.. the stretch difference is minimal between 24/0 and 20/4 but 24/0 to 18/6 seems to be around a half inch w/ heavy indica and up to an inch on heavy sativas.. as of now i currnetly only use the 18/6 for my veg, but its just my preference..sure i could veg safely under 16/8 and save a bit on electric even, but my plants wouldnt be nearly as tight.. i believe thats why 18/6 is the norm for most growers..i also firmly believe that at least some darkness is benificial so tho 24/0 has tighter nodes i believe a plant getting 23/1,22/2,21/3,20/4,19/5 or 18/6 will be a healthier plant as it has rest,recover,dark time...once again this is just my personal opinion,,but the stretch difference is fact..

so we can safely assume anything under 14/10 is a bloom light cycle,,i just wouldnt be comfortable taking the chance with a 15/9,,in the chance that its a picky strain and they begin to flower..i do not like reveg,,,but its a personal preference...lowest i would feel safe veging is 16/8,,but im not saying ill do it,,,ill stick with the normal 18/6,, i like the tightness of nodes and structure under that light cycle best..

I hear you...I just think 18 hours is a lot of light. And I think many people do it because somebody tells them they have to. If you experiment a little bit, a lots of these things you 'have to do' turn out to be BS...

I think when you veg., you're preparing a plant to be flowered...depends what you want. Bigger, smaller, tighter, stretchier are all personal choices depending on the size and shape of your room? And how much light you have to flower them.

In that range but note my last comment, when I left them in @14/10 longer (waiting for the flower room) they eventually started flowering at around the 2 week mark. Typically I'm running sat-dom hybrids, the odd indica. For veg I'd stick to 16/8 at the low end to be safe, not a lot of savings in one hour to take the chance imo. I have used 16/8, 18/6, and 20/4 depending on what I need at the time and typically to slow them down or speed them up in veg, 20/4 is my default, works well to keep my perpetual cycle going.

6" fan taking air out the tent and 4" intake but the 4" is fine its just the 6" that's loud

google 6 inch duct muffler. that and a fan spd controller should be plenty quiet

I've looked into getting one before but bit low on money atm thanks anyway

if your fan is vibrating and that's the source of the noise, try hanging it with a bungee cord. it will help a lot! good luck on your grow. oh, and welcome to RIU @The_Ganja_Guy

its not so much the vibration its like a blowing noise but I'm hoping that it wont be too much of an issue and thanks appreciate it

I have a 6inch extractor and its loud aswel so the trick is putting polystyrene around the bottom frame of the tent and it reduces the vibration it jus sounds windy until I opened the room the tent is in and if the sound of the fans pulling air is the problem like sound of wind add some ducting to it on the outer side. It don't have to lead anywhere mate aslong as you stick it like an exhaust coming out of you tent it sort of muffles it little bit.... 3-4 ft long will do fine tho it will disrupt the air pulled just a wee bit.
I did that because the wife was maonin lol

thanks that ducting thing worked a little bit not a massive difference but its noticeable and I'm definitely gonna give the polystyrene a try

We got an American fridge freezer and it had bug ass square ones so I cut to size and put the tent on top it helps with fans aswel when on they vibrate like fuck lol.
I'm glad it's working... one step closer to happiness

which fans of yours were vibrating the 2 6" ones I got inside to circulate air vibrate against the side of the tent a little bit but its not that bad and I put these sticky rubber things on the bottom of my 6" exhaust to quiet the vibration down because I have it on the top of my tent to save on room inside and thanks again for that ducting tip its working a treat

The fans circulating inside I have 15 inch it's on a stand and I stood that in polly
And the tent is on square of polly to stop the frames vibration on the floor.
My extractor is at the bottom pushing air out and that vibrates aswel.
So now with polyester every where it just sounds like a windy day outside lol.

where i am.
the longest day of the year - june 20th, is only 14hrs and 7minutes long.
grew outdoors for many years.
equatorial sats can take it, some of these sats go by age... most indica will flower as soon as they are mature.
with mild winters, we can flower year round
