Is it Possible to Profit From Creating a Cannabis Strain?

Just do what half the outfits are doing. Chuck some pollen. Call it anything you want. Heck you can call the same seed run a bunch of different names. Setup a website to sell the strains. Accept bitcoin. Make a bunch of fake instagram, strainly, and other social media accounts. Hype the strain like there's no tomorrow using all of those accounts. Post the website address everywhere you can. You'll get people fighting to give you $30 a seed for your pollen chuck. Waiting on the next seed drop or whatever.
Don't forget to say it's exclusive one time drop with only 8 packs made dropping every Friday at 4:20. With freebie

Same shit with “ seed auctions ” ... last chance strains or other bs. I have found bag seed more reliable , ya hear me ( Barney’s/ Cali connection ) ?

OP .... not to deviate with too much “ bad practices “ but you can see how easy it is to create an online presence and it sound like you have the holy grail seed drops ...

Here is an example ( spammy bs inbox ) actually today

Many here know this guy ( address is a P.O. Box ironically )

But if you want a headache… look at phylos galaxy.
So much diluted lines. I try to target landrace for basic experiments- sensi used to sell Rudy strains for those that wanted to start from scratch.

Think about it …. How hard is it to get an original blueberry or BD …
I want to get some Khalifa Genetics seeds and breed out a line or two. He goes down the old hippy trail and gets the real deal landraces from Afghani region. Idk tho, now that im better at this stuff im thinking it would actually be a step backwards cuz those landraces probably test around 12%...why would i breed a 12%? I like the idea of being connected to ancient lines but that seems like id only get shit reviews.

% doesn't equal potency bro. If it did no one would bother to strain hunt the old skool classics
While I believe the entourage effect helps potency, for the most part modern strains' terpene profiles along with THC content is off the charts compared to landrace strains. How many landraces are really popular? Durban is about the only one I can think of.

My bad, I combined both comments. Sticky said old school classics, and Mudballs said landraces. But aside from RKS, what other's are people really looking for? How much of that is nostalgia hype? You remember getting high af in high school off of a local legendary cut, but do you think you would have chose it over a modern strain if you had access to it back then?

It's a personal and subjective opinion. In my personal experience the 25+ % strains of today have not hit me harder than the top shelf I smoked in the 90's
Sugar doesn't hit me like it did in the 90s. Have you ever gone back and watched the cartoons or movies you thought were amazing when you were a kid? Some of them hold up, but most are hilariously bad.

I'm really not going to try and answer that. But we all know that higher THC doesn't mean stronger weed.
The THC arms race was yesterday's craze. Terps have been all the rage for many years now. It's all I hear the kids talk about.

But I'm not mad at you longing for yesteryear's buzz. Hopefully you'll find some old seeds in a pair of Jinco's while going through your mom's attic or something.

You need more Hindu Kush in your life bro :eyesmoke:
Hindi Kush is actually good. Malawi is another popular landrace I just thought of, but from my experience it negatively influences crosses. I has a cross of it with Gushers, and it produced the goofiest buds I've ever grown. One of them recently hermied and I had to chop it early. One of them has giant colas, but it's not even close to done and it's almost at 12 weeks from flip. I have a bunch of clones who are going to become overgrown if I wait for it to completely finish.

I had a pretty high tolerance in my 20's believe me. And yeah I quit for about 2 months out of every year.

When you consider that cannabis has at least 113 different canninaboids isn't it possible that some of the strains from the 90's contained a better combination than the strains around today. Isn't it also possible that breeding THC up means that other canninaboids have gone down. Therefore altering the sound of the symphony
It's not so much the tolerance, it's your own chemistry changing over time.
