Is it possible to combine lamp+room ventilation?

By using an air extractor on the lamp's one end, connected to a carbon filter outside the grow room and having the other end with a ventilation hose (or whatever its called) hovering in the grow room. Or is this the way its already been done?

I'm kinda confused with the whole ventilation thing. So many things to do but so little knowledge :( tho i've spent countless hours on the net searching for info.

Yes, that's what I'm doing.

Don't attach the extractor straight to the lamp, or the heat might damage the fan. Attach the fan to the ceiling of your box with bungee cords and run flexible ducting to the lamp (allow enough ducting so the lamp can reach it's lowest position without stretching it).

Attach more ducting to the other side of the fan, and run this out of the growbox to your carbon filter.

I didn't bother with ducting on the other side of the lamp, I just let it suck the air in directly.

You definately want to blow the air over your bulbs and not suck it through, sounds like you guys both have your fans in reverse.

exhaust air/pulling out air is always better had cooling than blowing air over something...

yes this is possible if you are not interested in co2...

if you was using c02 i would tell you to have two exhaust...one for the light and one main exhaust...

when using co2 turn off main exhaust...still have the light exhaust running to maintain low temps...

watch how fast a room cools down if you extract hot air from the top rather than trying to cool it off by adding an intake vent around the bottom and blowing air in.

the heat HAS to go somewhere

Except it's not a room, a cool tube is a closed system with a single inlet and a single outlet. A room has dozens of inlets if you are extracting air from it.

Sucking the air out of a room is the right thing to do, with a cool tube you should be blowing the air through the system.
