is it possible i harvested too late?

i mean dont get me wrong, shit looks good and smokes good.

but my boy came over the other day with the same strain of weed(blue dream) from the club. and it just didnt look the same.

the shit he had was dense and packed with crystals and almost crispy.

when i got the clones at the club it said 60 days. but at 60 days it still looked like it had another 2 weeks or so to go. so i let it go to 72 days and chopped.

i have some in there right now. the 60 day mark is the 20th.

i'll get some pics up in around an hour when the lights turn on.

mainly what i want to understand is how do i get this particular strain at ts best.
anyone know anything about the blue dream?

i guess i should add:

i chopped, dried for about 5 days or 6 days and did the final trim then jarred and burped for another week or so.

A lot depends on the environment and technique also. How were the Trich's looking when you harvested?

the shit degrades in potency after a certain point right?
anyone know when that is or what the weed will look like if that is the case?

I harvested this bud in Feb of 08 - just broke it out & its as good as it looks. Stored properly, bud can be very good for a couple years easily. The key is proper storage.

what i meant was, still on the tree.
if you wait too long to chop it down it will degrade in potency.
i will post of pic of this shit on day 60 see what you guys think.

O hell yea you can harvest too late. Well its really all personal preference. If you harvest late you will have less THC and more CBD, this means the high wont be as intense. Some people dont like the real intense couch lock high's so the harvest late on purpose. When there is more CBD the high is more cerebral and sociable. But I like the stoney couch lock, Im so fuckd I cant move high. For that high you harvest when the trichromes are all mostly a translucent amber color.

It looks like the last two examples are switched, in other words the trich's go all amber the longer you wait. It appears here that they go from "Mostly Amber" to "Half Amber/Half Cloudy". ??
Basically the longer they mature the more "Narcotic" high you get.

What if you let a bud with amber trichomes keep maturing while tying to get other buds to catch up? Can letting a bud overmature be bad? Is there a point where is stops helping and starts hurting?

I'm not sure at what point the buds lose a significant measure of their potency, but why not harvest the ripe buds and get to the others when they are ready? I do that on occasion with no ill effects.

ya i just seen on some other website weedbay.com blue dream it says 60-72 days, i harvested at around 70 days and i dont know, its just not as impressive as i thought it would be.
when its on the plant it looks amazing but after drying and curing it just doesnt do it for me.
