Is it OK to turn off the exhaust overnight?

Trying to preserve what little heat is in the room during the wintertime. During lights on, the room stays just barely warm enough. But, once the lights go out, the exhaust blows out any remaining warm air and the room just gets too cold (low to mid 50s).

Would turning the exhaust off overnight leave the room with stale air for too long?

...as a rule i'd not recommend it because it can lead to powdery mildew but you have to decide whether or not you can make it work, if you ensure you have really good air-flow within the tent it might could work.

I leave mine off when lights are off for the same reason, i want to keep heat in there. I have had no issues so far but I have just started my grow.

Is there a humidity level that would make it ok? Say, if the exhaust was off overnight, but the humidity was below 50%?

I used to use a small space heater with a built in tstat to keep it warm during lights off and a fan speed controler to slow down the fan to conserve heat when lights were on. Didn't have a problem..

i am having the same issues but im getting down to about 63 thats with exhaust running when lights off i do own a fan controller but how is NoBarriers turning speed down at desired times i know i can do it manually but how can you do that automatically? when lights on im hitting 82

I ran into an issue with the lack of air flow and powdery mildew.... Something I found helps -not ideal I know but depending on your grow size, spraying baking soda water on the infected regions. It raises the surface pH level of the leafs and can/will kill the mildew.

I had this problem in the past, I didnt know it was a problem until I got powdery mildew, then I realised the room would spike to 70% humidity at lights off. There are many things that you can do (have another exhaust on a timer) but me I switched from HID to LED and I stopped drawing the air from outside. So now that I use air from inside, I got the fan on 24/7, the fresh air comes from my living room, into the grow room, out into the basement then somehow upstairs again.
