is it obvious when the seed is germinized?

i got my seed on a plate, and if this is stupid flame me for it, but the seed that I have in the moist paper towel looks overall alot bigger than all the other ones i have that I haven't used yet, it's been there for about 4 days with water in the paper towel for most part of the day, how long will this "root" be when the time is good to put it in soil?

anyone got a a pic perhaps of what it should look like?

Make sure the paper towel water is warm, maybe a little hot.. place inside a ziplock bag to hold moisture and heat.

Yes if you germinate it, some people do it differently usually they start it in a cup of water for 12 hours then put it inbetween paper towels that are moist. The reason that your seed is getting bigger is the water is absorbing into the seed which needs to happen.... give it a week if nothing happens usually its a dud. There is no way that you wouldn't see the root if you look at the seed you will see a 'tail' coming out... some shoot out quickly some take awhile to come out.
You will see it coming out of the more 'pointed' end of the seed and remember to plant it root DOWN!!!!!!!! Hope this helps!!!!!

under a light really? roots hate light anyway! seed HAS TO STAY MOIST ALL THE TIME. go to wal-mart buy a cheap glass container with an air tight lid. warm water on a paper towel then place seed in paper towel inside jar but in warm dark area. give it 48 hours and check this never fails me, if its a good seed it will germinate. seeds need warmth and humidity for best results.

i just put a fem seed in the soil but it didn't have a tap root comeing out , but i guessed b.c i saw the area where it might come out. is this ok that i did that? i would be very disappointed if i messed up one of my fem seeds.

put the seeds in a plastic bag with a paper towel...kinda like in elementary...and keep em in the dark for a few days...and as soon as you see roots...put them in whatever medium you choose....

Your fine, the seed will germinate and 100% of the time it makes sure the root goes down and the green leafy stuff goes up into the light. It will do this even if you put it root facing up.

depends sometimes 2-3 days sometimes longer than that..... the good rule to go by is when the soil looks dry stick your finger in there until you reach your nuckle and then if its dry water it, if its still pretty wet then wait another day or two and check again

Ok its this simple...Take seed, put in cup of luke room temp water, put in dark area, check on it once a day, when 1/4in of white tap root breaks out of the seed(2-14 days) then just put in medium tap-root down...your done..

yeah, you want the soil to dry out a bit between waterings, sometimes i wait til I can see them wilting. For a new seedling you may not need to water for a week or so, big plants may need watering every day. the point is to not overdo it and love the plant so much that you kill it. be lazy about it and it seems to grow on its own.
