Is it normal for cotyledons to be curling down like this? (2nd day above soil)

Thank you for helping! So it’s not from me overwatering? I’m using a spray bottle at this stage and I sprayed the top of the soil when it got dry without checking the soil 1inch deep. (Mistake)They be fine, its not perfect but its hard for em at that size so we would hope they just grow out of it.
My plan now is to wait until it gets almost dry before watering again. (Feel free to tell me if i am wrong) thank you again!!!

Water them in small amounts. Full waterings arent needed till they are established. Just alittle bit at the stem is plenty.

The top layer will dry but the rest will retain a little moisture. When the pots feel light its watering time.

from my experience yes that is normal. as stated the tops tend to dry out the fastest just gotta feel the weight of the cups and water when they are super light. eventually they will fall off but idk if this is a genetics thing or watering thing but what i've found out from my experiences growing is when i over watered my plants the cotyledons fell off faster and were smaller. when i watered less often they grew bigger and they stayed on the plants a lot longer

Besides over-watering, does anyone know if too high intensity of an LED at this stage causes equivalent stress as over-watering?
Seems like there's a delicate transition that happens from trying to maintain an ideal environment for germination in soil (moisture in the soil and warmth) to an ideal environment for seedlings to grow (which to my understanding is higher humidity in the air and more oxygen to the roots?)

they can get heat stress if the light source is too close or possibly on for too long such as 24/0. i've gotten i would say heat stress but not really it was just the plants sweating due to lack of air flow in my grow space with 24/0 and the plants were much bigger then seedlings. i went from my cheap ass 75W lights which likely isn't even 75W for 3 days only to my 2000W 395W actual draw on that stage no issue i ran i think 24/0 at the time possibly 18/6 though. lights were not too close though kept um around 24"-30"
i don't think indoor grows would be much of an issue but when you go indoor to outdoor you'd likely see issues due to not dampening off. i had a grow like that. went from indoor to outdoor plants were showing signs of too much light because they were not used to the sunlight. leaves were folding up to shade themselves. after a few days it went away. heat wise outside it wasn't an issue heat here isn't that hot to really cause heat stress not at the time it was winter but we don't get snow here so we got a full year of outdoor growing if people choose to do that.

At this age I water by cup weight. My start dry wt.was 120gr., wt.wet is 230gr. I don't go below 160gr. and water to no more than 210gr. Won't bore you with percentages because I'm not smart enough. Stuck them in the tent corner on a heat mat. I water using a 10 oz. plastic condiment bottle. [ATTACH

I had the same issue , I felt at the time that it was to much light or nutes in the soil. I had it happen and they died off right after first single leaves. It turned yellowish and now it came back 80 percent and it was at about 3 weeks old. It had stunted growth for about a week though. found out my soil was to high of a base. So maybe that has something to play in it as well.

my well water is at 6.8 base so I used apple cider vinegar Braggs all natural. Use very little if you want to raise your acidic level. Let the water sit over night retest it and make it ahead of your watering schedule. It can lower your soil a whole point. be very carefull though..you can burn them easy as hell

okay all my plants I had with led stayed stunted no bigger than 6 -7 inches before preflower. I also noticed that organic types of nutes didnt impact them as well as scientifically engineered nutes, however I got a smoother smoke and less smell from the plants for some reason. Any who until I placed my 400 watt led muilti spectrum about 20-27 inches I got stretch. If it was lower than 17 it would bleach the girls and cause browning on the leaves it also made a 3 month old sativa only 6 .5 inches tall compact and then it stretched to a a foot+ after it was done . Disappointing yield as well at 6 g just as much as my autoflowers. But after I kept it about 20 inches I get nice big tall girls. The led light is more intense than other types of lighting. You also cannot use a light meter on muilti spectrum as blue and red light do not show up on the light tool I read it somewhere as well. I have 550 total led lights and it blinds the hell out of you and it reads 5000 luman . its a lot more than that it will light up a couple hundred feet of my back yard at night. I got a 13000 luman military light and it is brighter.

Thanks Lethidox! I've been running 24/0 and had my fan pointed at my led heatsinks but I dont think there was enough air circulation at the bottom of the tent. I also got some feedback that my light was too high above the medium.
Got those things more dialed now and it looks like they responded a lil overnight. The wonders of nature!
