what i do is i fill 3-1 gallon bottles with tap water and leave em out for at least 24hrs then when getting ready to water i ph the water levels to 6.5, i noticed my some of the fan leaves have like one or two brown spots on them and some other fan leaves on the tips they are really brown and dry

tap water is cool, good call leaving it sit out out that gets the clorine out of the water, but idk about the brown spots, pics would help

i dont think it will lower the ph but from what ive been reading it says that if left out it evaporates the chlorine in the water

@dr. high, answer is no

some tap water can be good because it holds a decient amount of secondary nutrient, but some can be harmful like having alot of chlorine.

If your tip is still burning that means that chlorine is still present and you probably have to evaporate more. Or it can be other factors depending on how hard your water is.

I have a tap water of 200-220ppm i don't get alot of problem from it or any at all because even if i use the water out of the facet after a day in my hydro res. the chlorine will evaporate. And i still have burning tips but it doesn't cause me that big of a problem where the plant will die, so i'll stick with tap instead of investing in a RO system and having to get cal mag.

It's a bad call to leave it sitting out - you let all the dissolved oxygen evaporate out of it along with the harmless levels of chlorine.

Seriously? That is the first time I've ever heard that in many, many years of gardening.

this might be crazy but I use dechlorinator, i figure if its good for fish to breath it should be fine for plants..so i get oxygenated water with neutralized chorine, of couse if its soiless you have airstones.
