Is it Bad to Grow Outdoors and Indoors (CFL)?

I have read a few post that suggest it may be bad to grow outdoors during the day then indoors under CFLs for a few hours at night. They say it will confuse the plants and stunt the growth. When its time for flower I will leave them outside (south Florida). Have you had experience with this or have any suggestions?

I had 4 plants in my grow cab and had to move one outside (during the day only) on the 20th, due to space limitations. I started them all on a 12/12 light cycle on the 8th. The one outside is now 2 inches taller than the ones in the grow cab. No stunted growth here . . . but I don't take it inside and put it under cfl's for a few hours. I just take it inside and put it to bed so it gets 12 hours of darkness.

I may be wrong, but it seems like sunlight in addition to the cfl lighting would only be beneficial. :peace:

I do it all the time.. from 6am-9am they're under CFL, and from 9am-3pm they are in direct sun..then back under CFL for the last 3 hours. Florida here as well. They perk up big-time when under the sun and it has definitely improved growth for me. The sun is unbeatable in terms of light intensity and penetration.

When people mention stunted growth it could be strain dependant. I grow mostly sativas so growth is already vigorous. If you can, experiment with one plant and see if it helps you.
