by this i mean is sunlight being blocked by clouds, etc beneficial to plants whatsoever. like is it a usable light source?

im asking because i got plants by the windowsill and itswinter. only like 1-2 days of a week the sun actaully shows, the rest its like dim sunlight being blocked by clouds. cant even see the sun. is this light being used by the plants? they seem to be growing faster and better then expected from the conditions its in. there actually nice 1 1/2" plants

hopefully your not considering stretching, as growing. you should go get a lil cfl bulb and you would be atleast a little better off.

that could work in summer , not winter.

You will get more light on a cloudy day on your window sill than is possible to give your plant by cfl. I am not saying that a cfl wouln't help you but you are certainly getting more useable light on cloudy days than any indoor light system can provide for you. Just because the light doesn't look as bright to your eye, the plant doesn't notice much difference, much of the light the plant uses is not visiable to the human.
Hope this helps and I wish you the best of luck on your grow.

this post was really helpful to me since i myself are having this situation. i just couldnt be patient enough to at least wait after winter since i got no weed growing outdoors after harvest. and all my plants now are small and are starting to show sex i think the least i can do is take advatage of it and breed them

You are most welcome. If the plants are starting to show sex and you want to veg a little longer you can put into a small area with some cfl's to keep in veg until you are ready to flower. The set up doesn't have to be elaborate or costly to do this. If you look at my journal, it show you how I grow on an 18/6 year round outside using the cfl's in the evening to give me the additonal hours. I have been using this now for almost 3 years and it works great for me and takes advantage of the power of the sun and goodness of the outdoors.
Any other advice or questions in regards to this please feel free to PM or leave a question in my journal.

well i know they arent getting enough light, yeh they are stretched but are very nice plants for low light conditions!! very nice 2 feet plants. im gonna try and find my cam tomorrow and take a pic. pretty nice plants. im hoping i can get decent bud growth so i can breed a decent amount of seeds. looks like i got around a g on each plant so far. 2weeks since i put them in light under 12hours a day.

good too hear rhino! hope it works out alright man.
thanks man. ill try to find my cam to get pics up. i havent really been putting much effort into them so im pretty happy with them. they're just seed plants if you know what i mean. i was gonna buy a 400watt HPS to grow these proper but i was like fuck it cause i just want to make them to seed, not worth all the cost. this literally cost me only dollars to setup so im happy with any outcome really. aslong as i get some seed to grow the monsters in summer. get myself a nice personal stash for my insomnia

hey bro... i was actually giving the 2 male and 2 females a few bit of 400mh that i just bought just so it will start revegging again...but the only thing is i only have 11 hours of day and give her at least 5 hours of indoor light, as i dont wnt to spend a lot in electric bills kinda on a tight budget. i will be subbing your journal to get much info. thanks
