Hello I am going to do a small indoor grow soon. I have always grown in soil. I was thinking of trying coco coir this time. So it hard to grow in? How often do you water/feed? Is coco hempys worth trying?
Thank you for the reply. Is it best to use plastic pots or smart pots with coco? It's easy enough.
Water and feeding is based upon your ratio to perlite. More perlite the more you feed. Pure coco only needs watering every 2-3 days.
I only use airpots so can't answer that one. Can't see it would matter though. I have seen coco growers using smart potsThank you for the reply. Is it best to use plastic pots or smart pots with coco?
Ok, is it best to use R/O water or can you use tap water?I only use airpots so can't answer that one. Can't see it would matter though. I have seen coco growers using smart pots
I use tap water. But I suggest ph testing your water first.Ok, is it best to use R/O water or can you use tap water?
Yes I have a ph and ppm meter. I also have hydro nutes.I use tap water. But I suggest ph testing your water first.
Hey CA Grower. I'm just wrapping up my first grow and I used coco. I'd say it was pretty easy, though I don't have any other grows to compare with. I did 70/30 coco/perlite in 3 gal smart pots. For the first three or four weeks I only watered twice a week. At about week 5 I started watering every other day. Each time water until about 30% runoff. Throughout the grow the plants would get one pain watering for every two nutrient waterings. I used the General Hydroponic Trio (Micro, Grow and Bloom) along with Liquid KoolBloom during flowering. Used tap water and always pH'd it to about 5.8. Developed a bit of a springtail infestation early in flower, but a few waterings with neem oil got rid of them. Search on here for "Maiden Voyage: Small Tent, Big Dreams" to see the whole grow. It's been updated weekly and the plants will be harvested tomorrow. Hope that helps!Yes I have a ph and ppm meter.
