First time at this. Im running 2- 1000 watt metal halide in veg for 12 girls. Im running co2(maintaining 1300-1500ppm) canopy is about 12 inches from air cooled lights. I have ac in the room and hold 80-84f on days and drop down to 75 in dark period 18/6. Im super confused on watering, my girls are in 7 gal pots(soil). Ive been giving them aquafina. Ph out the bottle is 5.6. Is that okay and how much and how often do I water them. I transplanted the clones I got from a reliable source 48 hrs ago.....happy frog soil...please help. All Info helps. thanx

for soil you want 6.3 - 6.8 for hydro 5.8 - 6.2 make sure you have a good meter. strips are junk and cheap meters are inaccurate. i've never used aquafina but im sure it's fine. as a matter of fact plain tap water is even fine so long as your not in a 3rd world country with very polluted water sources. RO, distilled, and spring are probably the best though.

watering depends on how big the plants are. as a general rule i try to give my plants enough water so they need it every 2 days. try not to wait too long where the leaves droop. if your leaves droop after watering then you are watering too much. for smaller plants like assuming small clones only a couple cups of water should be fine.

Why are you giving them aquafina? Cant you use Tap water let it breath for 24-48 hours to evaporate the chlorine and If your growing in soil with 7 gal pots you would be spending tons of money on Aquafina, what is the P.H. of your run off?

I'm not positive but I believe that aquafina is for a water based grow (DWC). It probably won't do anything horrible but there are plenty of base nutrients specifically developed for particular mediums. I believe that aquafina is a CANNA product. If you are in soil and want to use CANNA, I would switch to Terra line...

Plants can withstand a substantial amount chlorine without any negative effects. When I'm out of h202, I use a tsp of Clorox per gallon (dwc) and my ladies are happy and healthy. I think you said you're using soil. Aquafina is fine. But, costly. I would either collect rain water, or get an RO filter on craigslist if your water sucks.

Until the last 15 years pots plants were well adapted to dirty muddy old rainwater.

Unless you know you have bad tapwater for some reason, your plants aren't going to do any better with boutique water than what comes out in your sink.

i should also add if you have real small clones with very little root structure in say small cups, you really only need about 3-5 ounces of water.

like everyone is saying though, i would do something else instead of aquafina. im sure the water isnt bad but it's going to cost you a lot of money. your better off saving the money and putting it to more soil, an RO filter, maybe a couple new bulbs as spares.

sounds like you got your temps in check. thats exactly what i run mine at with co2. i havent seen a spec of mildew since. some people like to go lower than 75 at night but i get too scared of powdery mildew. i never even have to spray my plants with anything anymore. i just spray the soil when i get a few gnats here and there. obviously humidity is the main thing for mold but many growers underestimate the effects of temps as well.

good luck bro!

Maybe there is a natural spring around where you live? I saved a few of my used water gallon jugs and now once a week I go fill up at the spring, distilled water was getting expensive.

LOL.... I wasn't thinking bottled water. I was thinking of the CANNA nutrient specifically for Water based systems. I know the name is Aqua something?? I don't actually use it as I don't grow in water.... That's to funny... I can't believe that I didn't realize you were all talking about bottled water.. I'm not even stoned at all so can't blame it on that....... Guess I get the dunce cap on that one!! :)

very smart thing to do actually. friend of mine makes a trip every week not too far out of town to fill up a bunch of gallon jugs. me and another friend are thinking of doing the same with 5 gallon jugs. i use tap and it works just fine but wouldnt mind giving this spring a try. one thing though is if you reuse your jugs often keep an eye for leaks. you may want to keep them in a bath tub or on some kind of big trey. i've more than once seen old jugs lose half their water over night and make a big mess.

lol it's no prob. i was kinda like wtf a canna product, i thought it was coke or pepsi then i looked it up LOL. you know i actually do that kinda shit all the time myself, even on forums sometimes. i usually do blame it on being stoned but maybe it has nothing to do with weed after all. thats the good thing about being high though, fuck up on something you can just say sorry i was stoned.
