Yeah, 4ft is plenty tall, I'd veg them for 3 weeks then flower. But 2 sq feet footprint isn't that large, you might want to supplement light on the sides as well as the top... Idk, such a small area, I have no experience outside growing in a full bedroom, or 10ft x 10ft space...

Can't help anymore, no knowledge of CFL growing. :?

i use a window ac unit to bring in fresh co2 to my plants along with an ozone generator for smell control and a window fan taking air out along with an oscillating fan to move around the ozone and co2

Well the box is 4 feet tall but i only have about 19 inches when the pots are in and the lights are risen as high as they go.

What are your pots 29 inches tall?

Along with the ozone being bad... I also wanted to add that the window a/c isn't brining any fresh air into the room, it just recirculates the air from the room. The condensor is outside on the back of the unit, it doesn't suck in air from outside. The unit sucks air from the front, inside, there's probably a filter, and blows out the top.

The fan removing air from the room is the only thing ambiently bring air into the room through passive intakes.

You most likely have a surplus of o3 and o2, unless you're enriching with co2.

Might wanna look into that. :leaf:

I have two large duct holes cut into the bottom front of the box and the about 30 one inch holes cut into the plant tray so that the fan can pull frsh air in. And as far as im concerned it pulls in quite alot of fresh air because when i smoke by it i can see the vents suck the smoke through.
