6500k Blue Spectrum.... here was the description of the lumens..... is it enough? not really sure on what the description means......

"
This flood light uses a 65 watts Fluorex light bulb (110 Volts AC) but is as bright as a 500 watts incandescent light bulb. The output is 6825 lumens per bulb vs. 6500 for a 500 Watts incandescent."

...... is this enough for just small grow of like 2-3 plants? or should i get more CFLs for my setup?

EDITTTTTT

The 65Watt light is still on delivery, but also ordered, 2-42 Watt CFL, 6500k Full spectrum- 2800 lumens/bulb

so thats total of 3 lights.... 65w 1 inch from top of plants and both 42w CFL in the middle of the 3 plants? have good size home oscillating fan goin on it right now, later on gonna just change to 2-4 4200 RPM CPU fans cooling it down... does this sound like a good setup for veg stage? later on will buy new bulbs for Flowering stage....

ok just checked it out yeah it would work but color spectrum I saw was 6500 degrees Kelvin or 6500K
good for vegetation you would need at least two or four
for flowering if they make a lower Kelvin like your 2700K's then good for flowering
and again would go at least four to get up to the 18,200 Lumen range and that sounds awesome
what about the heat?
said on an amazon site that for growing it is only like 4550 lumen usable for plants

65watts is how much energy it uses
lumens are how bright
and Kelvin is the temperature of color(light)

thanks for feedback, heat is ok factor, got a good regular size oscillating fan goin, gonna add some CPU fans later on my set up... would this be enough for a good grow? or should i add more?

You could probably grow one small, under 3ft plant with it, maybe two very small ones.

7,000-10,000 lumens per square foot of growing space.

I used the 65 watters as part of my lighting when i tried cfl's. Plants respond to them pretty well if they are close enough.

im about to buy these CFL lights... can u tell me if this description sounds accurate and good for my plants? "
4 COMPACT FLOURESCENT ENERGY SAVING LIGHT BULBS – 23w

Warm white color!!!

Light Output - 1600 Lumens 120v& 60Hz

24 COMPACT FLUORESCENT LIGHT BULBS!

100 WATT LIGHT OUTPUT USING ONLY 23 WATTS!"

what do yall think? is that 1600lumens if they were all on? or is that 1600lumens/bulb? anyway, will it be enough as well to use say.... 4-6 of those bulbs around the plant while i have that 65w 1 inch away from the top of the plants?

they are allright if you are buying them from walmart for cheap, but if you are buying them off ebay or a garden site, just say no.

would

2- 18 W CFL's
& 2- 23 W CFL's be enough for one plant
if the plant is under 2 ft and they are surrounding it.

So you're looking at 1 bulb with 6,500 lumens and 4 more with 1600 lumens each. That should be enough to cover about a 2ftx2ft grow space.

I'm a novice but I'd put the 6500lumens bulb at the top close to the plants and 2-3 of the 23w bulbs on the sides of the plant. Should be able to easily fit 2 short plants in that space, maybe 3. I'd try a screen to maximize the light exposure on the buds.

Again, I have read that 7,000-10,000 lumens per sq ft is about right and 5,000 is about the minimum.

i decided not to get those 23watters, and just ordered 2- 42Watt 6500k 2800 lumens/bulb so thats a total of like.... 12100 lumens... and its only 3 small plants now.. if 1 is male, then thatll b 2... its kept in a small box only bout a feet in a half both ways... is this a good set up?
