Is a 1.6 Gallon pot Ok?

First time grower here. If I was going straight from a germination transplant to a 1.6 Gallon pot all the way until flowering how much would I yield? Strain could be Lowryder or GMO Cookies. I am doing coco and it will be outside on my deck.

1.6 gallon coco? That will need multiple feeds per day. Plan accordingly. Yield? Anyones guess

Is that estimate based on personal experience?

Too many variables to guess anything. Just ease up off the gas & take it step step by step. First time growing and choosing coco? Good luck.

I would suggest a 3 gallon pot. Coco is a fantastic medium but like any first time grow it will require patience and research.

These plants were in 1 gallon pots and got just over 6 ounces from the one I weighed. It wasn't an ideal situation but it wasn't planned either.

Outside during summer you'll probably need to fertigate at least 4 times per day to keep it from drying out. If you can multi-feed it will work, otherwise go with a bigger pot.

It's more like 1 ounce per 1 gallon is pretty good in soil, but coco done right will absolutely crush that...some people can get +1lb plants in 5gals of coco.

It's something to work off of I'm not saying these numbers are 100% correct. Obviously there are many factors involved. Here take a look if interested.

Pot Size To Yield Ratio

As we all know, yield depends on a myriad of things - soil, sun, water, genetics, etc. All that taken into consideration, I have noticed some average yields from different container sizes when given good conditions. 1 gallon container = half ounce yield 2 gallon container = 1 ounce yield 5...

If you are referring to the original post, those numbers are not even close to accurate.

For you, yes because you are a better grower then most I'm sure. But for the average grower those are some numbers to work off.

Last summer I ran two plants in 100% coco. Starter pots -> 3 gallon -> 5 gallon -> 15 gallon.

While not ideal they were only fertigated once a day. A few times they were fed twice but not often. The last transplant into 15 gallons was an after thought already well into flower as I was gone and only able to feed them once a week and was hoping they'd stay wet as long as possible.

Maybe that number is accurate for your setup but that is way off for me. I average about a pound per/2 gal of medium approx.

Nah but seriously I get around 2oz/gal of pot in coco/perlite with 1000w DE HPS.
