is 36 hours of darkness before 12/12 good for the plant?

So i have heard that people will put thier plants into 36 hours of darkness before they harvest, but i was told that you can do this before you go into flowering. Is this true? and if so what are the benifits of doing this?

I'm not the master on this ..

but I have also heard/read that 36 hours of darkness before harvesting reduces chlorophyll (the stuff that makes is smell like wet grass / hay when drying) up to 70% or something close to that. Trying it in about 3 weeks, so I'll let you know if I notice a major difference :)

i wouldn't do it before flowering just in the case of stress. i have heard a period of 24-48 hours of darkness helps them to show their sex faster. why idk.

I have a teacher at my college that swears by the 24-48 hours of darkness before flower and harvest. I'm going to do it for sure.

I've only ever heard of doing 72 hours of darkness before harvest.. it's supposed to make the trichs more potent or something like that
