crap man, i'll get onto you properly tonight or tomorrow. currently hectic craziness as i'm moving house! getting my stuff there (inc the plants) has been a spot of bother to say the least! the upshot of all this is i'll be very busy with my plants, as it's my grandmother's house (she lives in England) and i'll be able to dedicate an entire room to my grow hobby. hell i might even try some outdoor growing seeing as i have a well hidden acre of land behind the house!

Heh cheers Bilbo! I gotta lotta work ahead of me! The grow room is 3m X 4m. It needs a lot of cleaning! I've also got a smaller 1m X 1m space for cloning. I'll have plenty of CFLs for the mother plant. Because I, now, have a 600w hps! Which will all be set up and ready to go after I clean up and work out the air ventilation/circulation/filtration... Needless to say, I'm gonna be a busy bastard!! I'll get pics up as soon as everything is good to go!

If you are only growing with 1 hps, you hardly need to ventilate a space that size.no need for a air cooled reflector for just that. lol you just need to bring in either fresh air or add co2.

if its a magnetic cap and core, take it somewhere and get a switch installed to turn the ingitor on and off. then you have a switchable ballast.

and invest in quality bulb. im dumping all my cheap hps bulbs. i already use awesome 1000w skinny mh. but i have been guilty on skimping on bulbs. i dont know why... its not like i cant afford good bulbs. i always thought it was bullshit eye hortilux bulbs are 80-100 per lamp. and it so happens there are a few really awesome bulbs for 600w systems. hortilux blue(you need no switch for those i hear, they are conversions) and a few 600w only bulbs.

mylar your room. in my oppinion that light is a little small for that kind of space without it.

Hope your grow rooms coming along well.

unfortunately i still have no money for any of that still! lol! but yeah i know the room is a little big so i'm planning on surrounding the plants with large plywood slabs and covering them in mylar. so much happier now i have too much space rather than my recent dire space issue! i can easily get fresh air in. i'll throw in a proper fan too. see if the temperatures are ok. damn heat wave!

Yeah Cloudy the heat man, who would have thought it, W are having a wee mini heat wave over the water here as well and despite me buying a 4 inch RVK fan with the filter and all its back to leaving my grow closet half open to keep temps down, and even at that, last night temps were around 85 degrees in the closet. Wish I had a bigger room as well.

Imagine the challenges some of us face. Ive never been near this stupid, but i was once brought into a comercial that had maybe 3500 plants. in flower. buddy had 6 massiv acs on the outside of the house. it was the most heatscore operation i ever seen. this fuckers power bill was 2k a month. he told me one time half his breaker blew and lost ac power and lights ran the fucking place up to 130f, killed everything...

always be glad for small spaces. At times even mine is a pain in the ass. and i dont have close to what that genius did. his basement was 4500 square feet. he was really dumb, he was a amatureive been at this for years and i wouldnt want to attempt that shit... maybe with a team of a few guys

Looking great Cloudy! Ya it's pouring buckets here in the Mitten of America right now too. I'm not complaining though, sure beats the over 90F temps I put up with in early June last year. The autos look to be frosting up nicely mate, looking forward to watching them finish.

here is my temporary setup! it's obviously unfinished but for now it is functional! hps on the left! 200w dual spectrum cfl on the right! it's hanging sideways for a reason.. it's not at all ideal..
