Those nugs look great Irish. 13oz is a good size harvest man. Good job!

I'm gonna try and shoot for 2 oz per plant with the 500 GLH I just got :)
its not the biggest harvest ive gotten from these lights, but i am guessing the organics i used lowered my yield compared to my older chem grows. but this is the best quality ive grown from the looks. i haven't smoked any yet.

13oz from a organic grow with only 4 plants is good enough for me though.

my two 500's are on their way, and i have my Casey Jones girls cloning right now, and have something planed out for these girls to boost yield and quality, we see on my next grow.

unreal threads man. The number one source of LED grow truth on the web after scouring for the best of 3 months.

Been looking at growledhydro, hydrogrowled, growl-ed and stealth grow which seem to be the biggest ones. HGL have plenty of terrible press (seems just due to the spokesperson being the typical salesperson...enough said) but you used them with a reasonable result, and now they have the 3w models but are on the pricey side. Stealth are well expensive as well and the quality all looks rather similar. Growl have had not too many tests on them from what I can see. Your forum set the standard so will stick with GLH.

Contacting GLH as we speak for a 290 Spectra purchase for 2 plants. The summer has been a nightmare for heat but worried that the night get too cold for ladies at night getting down to about 45F at night in winter. Still, I think a small heater will be more economical than using the 600w as heater as well as light source. Does the 600W GLH produce that much heat that you need to extract a lot?

Also, you dont enrich with CO2 at all? Doesn't seem like you need it anyway?!

Thanks for any info!

Smart move by sticking with the GLH leds, they are the best. Just it was a smart move on ur part bro to stick with what works, their are a ton of great grows on the web using these lights and not just mine. i was just the 1st to use them and i use the more high power ones. i can get you a discount on these also if you say you follow my threads and make sure to tell GLH you seen me post about this. a little something for the support of my threads, i just expect you to join my next grow.lol. na just messing with you bro.lol..

GLH dosent make a 600w anymore , not they have a 500w witch i am about to get in a few days to do a grow with so i dont know much about it. but every light need air to be exchanged its more for fresh air for ur plants and not all about just because of heat. screw those little heaters unless u have a real big room, i use reptile heat lights but the ones that do put out any light, so i only use 150w to heat my room instead of my 1500w heater. its always best to run ur lights at night, this is when its coldest and helps with both winter and summer. either way if it gets too cold during the lights out no matter what light u will need heat. leds do put out heat but its not IR (Radiant) the stuff that HID puts out and burns ur leaves in the hot temps. this is how i am able to grow in the crazy 100F+ summer temps.

i do not use CO2 but would love to see what it can do for me, but my setup really isnt too good and i cant run it in my room.

heres a little something about HGL ( Hydro Grow Led) that you might want to see. http://www.thcfarmer.com/forums/f137/ledgirl-threatens-narc-me-out-26228/
http://www.thcfarmer.com/forums/f137/fraud-cammie-mckenzie-fraud-26178/
http://www.thcfarmer.com/forums/f137/ledgirl-banned-25888/

its also funny how she always said 1w leds were the best and will out do the 3w leds any day and now using the 3w leds because of the lights i use have them, if you look real hard most led company's and just copying GLH now, most company's use now 3w leds, 90 degree leds and try to use 11-12 wavelengths. the key thing to remember is that none of these company's can get the same results because its all about the wavelengths used, kinda like a award winning BBQ, you can use the same meant but without the proper use its not going to be the same.

now i dont know about growl? never really seen any grows from them. ive seen a few stealth grow on youtube and i wasn't impressed at all, and it was posted from the company witch is owned or ties in with Advanced Nutrients.. all their plants seem stretched out and their no way that light matches a 600w HPS, i cant stand those claims it makes leds have a bad name http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MV1qI_VvX2w

when getting leds look for respected growers and journals to make up ur mind, dont listen to led sales people. the proof is in the pudding. Google my name and you will see even more journals/grows i did and did post on here.

ok got those new 2011 GLH spectra 500's and they are insane bright, i couldn't even come close to looking into them, i had to walk backwards to turn it off. the in crazy crazy bright, my friend almost fell to the ground because it caught him off guard. when its hanging in the room its not so bad as long as ur above the light but for these pics it was insane bright!! please please wear sunglasses with these lights.

heres some side x side pics next to my old 360w light. the 500w is on the left and the 360w is on the right. the pics dont even do it justice. my 4x4 tray is lite up crazy now. this is going to be very nice. Mike forgot to put the kill-a-watt meter in the box so i cant test these for you and show what they draw. sorry

I currently have the Spectra 300 and have been very impressed thus far, it compares more then favorable against my 400watt HPS with much less heat, and denser nugs and healthier plants overall. i am a little jealous of your new light, i am sure it rocks. They keep upgrading technology, i know my light is 3watt led bulbs, what about your new 500w?

ya my leds buds are always rock hard. my 500's are still 3w leds just better parts.
i am swapping out my two 245's in my tent for four 100 ufos that GLH just came out with to see how they work? i hate UFO's but i will rock anything GLH puts out and i have faith

And if you had to recommend a unit for a 4 x 4 - 16 sf space what would be your first and second choices of lights. This is one purchase that I prefer the recommendation of an experienced grower with his hands on quite a few different products before throwing my money out the window.

Does anyone have a source to learn everything there is to know about LED grow lights, how they work and the major differences between this one and that one?

I'm looking to educate myself and this seems like a good place to start :bigjoint:

Catching up on your journals, thanks for sharing.

to be honest it all depends how ur temps and money? 1st choice would be what i am doing in my 4x4 tray two 500's remember a 4x4 tray was made for a 1000w HPS.

but in my 4x4 tent my two 245's are a great match, i like to hit the girls hard with light and in return get huge buds and yields. ive heard others say their 290w was a good match for their 4x4 tent. but if it were me i would rather have two 290's over one 500w

as far as leds ive learnd from dealing with leds and different company's in my time google is always a great place to find info,

Exactly, I was shopping 1000w HID's and Raptor hoods to upsize the light in my box until a friend of mine got me interested in LED's. I'm currently running an aircooled 600 HPS which tops out at 81 degrees this time of year. I run an ice box in the summer but the temps outside the box without the HID would be low 70's I think since its in a basement. What is your temp difference with the 2 x 245's inside and outside comparison?

its hard to say because i dont exhaust out in that room the air just gets reused. i also am only running one of the 245w and havent used the others.

Hi IrishBoy,
Again you are the man at growing and I hope I'll be able to just get something to work. Still dealing with the wife going through radiation right now and suppose to start some estrogen blocker that will help block the possibility of cancer recurring. My temps have been in the 90's and 100's lately but I'm at Day 74 in 12/12 bloom [didn't realize I had to watch when they started flowering]. Anyways... Purple Cadillac strain which to my understanding 7 - 9 weeks to harvest after flowering. I had some hiccups with the nutes to start and had some leaf burn but watered regularly. I am using Spectra LED for lighting which has helped with this heat.
I have a few pics I took today and wondered if you could comment as I'm afraid I did something incorrect and stressed out with all the family issues......:-(
Thank you and sorry for being off track from your thread.....

ya bro, they went threw some stress and nute defency problems. to be honest though bro in those temps its amazing buds u have and the quality seems to be on par. its very very hard growing in high temps light that and takes a real green thumb to do it so my hats off to u bro u rocked those lights and leds were the key from less radiant heat like HID frying the leaves and giving heat stress. i am growing in 110F temps right now on my new grow journal its not easy or fun.
