Ipower 6inch fan sounds like jets taking off.

Just purchased a Ipower 6inch inline fan for my tent, only problem I'm having is it sounds like a god damn jet taking off. I was going to get a speed controller however I read depending on the motor type a controller can be a fire hazard. Does anyone here use the ipower branded fans with a speed controller and is there any hum or fire danger?

pack insulation around it to kill the sound a bit. Dont worry about it over heating. It gets cooled from the air passing thru it.
