So I've torn down the old tent. Cleaned up. Hit the edges of room with Ortho Home Defense spray. I've been seeing too many spiders they had to go. Plus figured if I had any mites chillin, that'd kill em too. Lysol'd everything for spore killing. Vacuumed etc.

Obviously I'd never use insecticides with an active grow going, I figured "why not" in between grows though.

Anything else you would do before setting up your new tent & old equipment in a carpeted room? Clean the fans or LED light i suppose?

I always make it a point to dismantle the fans & clean them up good. I pull fans out of the tent 2x per run for a cleaning. The fan blades get dirty, and work less efficiently if not.
Lights will get taken down & I’ll blast the dust off them with my compressor.
Everything gets wiped down before installation with 91% isopropyl. Tent walls, floor tray, poles.. everything.

Edit: It would be agood time while the room is empty to seal up any entrances insects could possibly use to enter with a little caulking.

I would throw the carpet out or buy something to cover it. It attracts a lot of the nasties and should be as far away from a grow room as possible IMO.

Those 6" hurricane fans have been running 24/7 for 1 year now. Chuck em & get new ones? Or should I just get a oscillating tower fan & forget the 6" fans altogether.

I just make sure to vacuum and dust thoroughly and spray some peppermint oil stuff on the carpet. Tried taping air filters to the passive intake vents but duck tape doesn’t stick to grow tents very well, might try an active intake though a carbon filter but I haven’t had any bugs

I've been growing in a tent on carpet for 6 years now and have had spider mites once and that's the only pest I've ever had other that fungus gnats. The Spider mites probably came into the grow room after me being outside and not changing clothes but it's been 4 years and zero bugs or mold problems. Don't worry about the carpet in other words, people get so worried about a grow room with carpet when I've seen way more people with mites and thrip issues in grows without it. Wear clean clothes into the tent and shower if you've been outside just to be safe and the grow tent will be fine.

Cool, yea i think i got mold during the dry. There were spider web-like individual strands deep inside the buds. Not "webbing" but just small strands, which im guessing were a mold & not mites. Such heartache having to throw away a pound. I just wanted to zap everything & do a good clean before i set back up.

Have you tried Gorilla tape? It keeps the pieces of carbon pre-filter taped to the reflective part of my tent. It’s worked for months.
