Introducing CobKits.com - specializing in DIY and Citizen COBs

These are the only numbers I've seen, courtesy of um, me: http://rollitup.org/t/cheap-and-cheerful-diy-using-citizen-cobs.909460/page-13#post-12802292

Again, these are the numbers according to Citizen and their SPD charts. Real world results may vary, but calculating efficiency/PPF with these charts would likely result in a decent conservative estimate.

Remember, the Cree numbers everybody quotes are from @SupraSPL, not Cree. Nobody has confirmed 56% or 60% or any goddamned thing. Lot of talk from vendors about sphere testing their fixtures, no acual results yet, unless I missed them. Certainly possible.

thanks dude, this is exactly what i was looking for

seems i got excited for no reason, although they are cheaper with efficiency maxing out in the low 50s it still makes sense to stick with cree for lower driver current

unfotunate but oh well

Lovely!

@Evil-Mobo youre also thinking of running these puppies like a man,
100w+?

My first DIY is with (4) Cree CXB 3590's in 3000K running on the mod420 frame with pin heat sinks and Khatod lenses with the mean well 320-2100B driver. Shooting for 320+W at the wall from the four COB light to cover a 3x3 tent........

Want to see how this compares to 600W MH/HPS in the same area......

4x 1825 at 100 watts each, 3500 80/90cri side by side. Over 1mx1.10m

It must be friday, the dicks are waving lol

It's all good bro my other lights won't be this manly lol. I just want to see what's more effective for the $$? Less COB's more watts vs more COB's less watts each. I will be building a veg light that will run a 3x3 with just about 180-W is the goal once dimmed down. And a bar light with 4 COB's at about 50-60 watts each.

I don't wave my dick, pisses the wife off. People have to get too close to see it

Well I got tired of chomping at the bit, especially after watching all of Mau5's videos, so I just ordered some parts from Cobkits, cant wait to put it together (I love DIY projects ;?)

What will your total watts be?

Could use more red, the 2700k is crying to unleash a horde of photons :)

Aren't the 1212s more cost effective to produce the same radiant output? You get 2 1212s for the cost of 1818 which look to have a slight edge in total radiant power using the same electrical power.
