Intro // Auto Somango Bonsai Grow

Hey everyone!

I was on this site a decade ago and while I've lost access to my old accounts, I've always loved this site so I'm back!

My medium is true living organics soil and this is Auto Somango from Advanced seeds at day 41.
She's growing through a 1/4 inch hole i drilled in the wood.
This girl has been outdoors, but is now under a 1000w led.
Showing a lil N deficiency but i'm going to throw a lil 4-1-1 fish emulsion in her next tea.

Thoughts? Anyone else doing "bonsais"?

Good to be back on RIU and not have to hide!

Patrick

And welcome back :leaf:
Thanks man! I got a lil experience with this back in the day keeping a mother in a small pc grow/2 quart pot but I'm still learning too. N seems to be my weak spot so next bonsai I'll be giving a a scheduled FF Grow Big tea at 15 days or so.

I've also been slowly building my super soil I usually grow in but it wasn't read for this plant. I basically make a worm farm then feed them veggies, ff ocean forest, organic coffee, filtered water, biochar, compost teas, and a real dope organic fertilizer blend with tons of beneficial bacteria/fungi. Oh and mycelium. The worms eat up what they can and the rest cooks into "Patrick Preta" haha

What went wrong with yours? Keep trying dude!

I am hoping to start a bonsai grow if only the clones I have root.
Dude it took me SO long to figure our cloning. I even tried building an aero cloner! It worked perfectly mechanically but no roots. Finally had luck with straight up peat plugs on a warming mat with a 5600k cfl. Post up when you start and please lmk if you have any questions!

I have not had trouble with peat plugs but have been trying coco or perlite as it would be easier to remove the media from the roots.

Here's Project #1 taken at day 65. Today is 67 and I'm considering chopping. Thinking it would be really cool to de pot, spray off substrate (whatever is remaining anyway) and dry it with the roots on. Picturing the root ball to look like a package of noodles :)

Thoughts?
