So I have a AC Infinity Cloudline exhaust fan with the newish 67 blue tooth controller. They just did an update and added in VPD(kPa). I have been going by a VPD chart. But this new add-on gots me questioning what I should try and keep it at.?Screenshot_20211228-213445_AC Infinity.jpg

Cool, just updated. Nice to see them improving the app, but people still don't like a fan tracking their location! >:(
I'm going to contact them about it.

Be sure to enter your Leaf Temp Offset in settings. The best vpd depends on stage of growth, lots of info here on riu and the net.

They do WUT????

Why does an exhaust fan care where I'm located?? I mean zonally maybe for weather. But it shouldn't care that I'm on 123 ABC St in Podunk, MD. WTF.

The app requires location permission, many do, check out app settings on your phone.

How do I know my leaf temperature?

And another qeustion. I can keep VPD when lights on with my InkBird controlling Humidifier and Dehu, but when lights go out temps drop about 10 degrees if that. How will I lower thr humidity to follow vpd at lights out. Turn thr inkbird off when lights go out but then my humidifier will turn off and thrn humidity would drop under what I need at lights out. Or should I just follow VPD with lights on?

I don't change humidity at lights out

Ok that's were I was getting at do as long as I keep it good for the 18 hours at lights on the 6 hours not so much important? It's just kinda impossible you would have to change it yourself every time pretty much. Lol

I don't really know about the importance of vpd during lights out, just that it's not practical for me.

Great thread, I had similar questions about VPD with lights out.

I'm looking forward to the new Cloudray S6 clip on fan by Infinity. They said it comes out early 2022 but I haven't seen a specific date yet.

I saw this new Cloudline controller, looks dope. Probably get one for my T6 on my next grow. With VPD there is two different calculations, one if which is more important to us: room/air VPD and Leaf VPD. Leaf VPD is what we need to know.

Leaf VPD is a formula of leaf temperature, ambient temperature, and relative humidity. Pulse has a good calculator on their site
@ZuuTeD614 your VPD chart is correct, with proper targets for each plant stage. Calculate Leaf VPD to use this chart correctly.
@1212ham is correct, need an IR temp gun.

Why do we need an IR gun? Because different leaves run at different temps. Some stay 1 degree below ambient (sativa's) and some can stay 4+ degrees below ambient (indicas). These differences result in different Leaf VPD's which may change the optimal environment for that particular strain. These differences can also determine if you're in the correct range or not.

Never heard of lights out VPD, however I do let humidity drop about 5% at night. Not sure how it matters since light is off. I prefer to drop humidity just to prevent from spikes. FWIW. Happy Growin!:leaf:

Yah man its a cool feature, I love it. And I also have a InkBird that controls humidity. Without this stuff grows would be hard I think. Lol

Tha ks for the info, I will def have to see if I know someone with a Temp gun and see if I can use it. Happy growing!

Alright fellas, so I bought a IR gun 35 bucks to check my "leaf surface temps". With LED lighting, I have a Mars Hydro TS1000 and two side blurples lights that are also Mars Hydro 300 watts(actual 132 each). I have a total of 414 watts of LEDs in a 2x4. What's the besteaf temps with LEDs?
