Intersex Plant? (Microscope Pictures)

I just wanted to confirm before chopping that this is an intersex plant. It shows male preflowers but then started showing female flowers once in flowering. Now it is also showing male pollen sacks I think.

It is in another room right now just to be safe. These are from a feminized Kandy Kush seed and is about 2 weeks into flower.

Yeah man, looks hermie, to me. I'd give it a few days, just to be 110%, and don't worry, there's no risk of it pollinating the others, for awhile yet. The pods will open up and become sorta dry, before pollen starts flying, which leaves you plenty of time to identify and dispose, first.

Thanks for the reply, how much time would you wait before deciding?

So even female seeds can go hermie? That is wierd, why would this happen? Some sort of stress maybe?

thanks
Oh yeah they can, trust me. I have had to chop 2 different strains that came from feminized seeds. In fact, most people would argue that feminized seeds are MORE prone to turning hermie since a lot of them come from a hermie pollinating a another female plant. I don't know if that is totally true but from my experience I would steer clear from feminized seeds. In my opinion getting clones or starting from normal seeds is the way to go. My plant that started from a "regular" seed (Mandala Safari Mix) has been doing great despite my troubles with hermies.

It very well could be stress, but I doubt it (I think it is genetics). My grow conditions are pretty stable with temperatures never going above 82F and my pH is very controlled between 6.3-6.7.

I would wait 6 days to be sure. If even that. Great Pictures.
Thanks, I think I will give it until Sunday (so 4 days). Hopefully no shenanigans happen in that time.

Cool, that really sucks though cause they charge so much for them buggers@!!! That is the thing, i cant get any clones and the bag seeds from around my neck of the woods really does suck.. We get a lot of the not so good stuff from mexico. Im hoping my baby dont turn on me, i put her outside since i cant afford to use lights, but the temps reach over 105 degrees * F. Is that too hot?

Also, dont males also give off some bud? If so, is it worth keeping him around to smoke?

I recommend ordering large packs of regular seeds. A lot of vendors offer packs of less expensive seeds if you don't want the "name brand" strains.

105 F is not desirable, but I doubt it will kill the plant. The extreme conditions may make a plant more prone to hermie but it doesn't necessarily mean it will. It just may effect yield, potency, etc. Also, some strains are meant for high temperature conditions. A little research on strains may go a long way for your conditions.

I'm sure there are some people in this forum that are great at growing outdoors in extreme conditions.

What GoldenGanja13 said. The amounts of THC in males is negligible hence why no one grows them other then for breeding purposes. It is ideal to grow with females only ("sinsemilla" which is spanish for "without seed") as they will stop putting as much energy towards THC production once they get pregnant (hence why hermies are bad too).

I am harvesting a crop of from bag seed now. I had the same issues. Clone the plants that show little male flower production and or show their hermi male flowers after week 7 of flowering. This seems to be to late in the flowering cycle for pollination to occur. My next crop using the clones will produce male flowers but only around week 7. So I inten to use this unwanted trait as a sign of maturity.

Kool, I appreciate the advice! In these temps she has been growing really well! I cant complain bout her progress as she has been growing bout an inch and a half a day since I switched to 12/12. I lst'd her and got 6 main colas and the tallest 2 are now at 12.5in and I just flipped 10 days ago. How much more growth do you think they will have? Oh, and I cant rep till tomorrow, dam rules!

I saw your harvest, looked really dank!

I also want to make a comment on bag seed overall: Out of 6 strains: two were sativa dominant, 1indica dominant and the other 3 were to close in the middle to distinguish. Only 3 of the strains were worth keeping. The heavy indica (showed NO male flowers at all) one of the sativa dominant varieties and one of the "to close to tell" (both these showed male flowers at week 7 into flower. I guess one could expect similar ratios if they were to utilize 6 varieties of bag seed.

3 out of 6 ain't bad! I would take those odds with badseed any day. I think it is common for some females to hermie very late in flower. When there is a 100% female population, it is natural that some change sex late into flowering with the hope of making seeds and continuing on for another generation. Life never gives up propagating!
