interruption of night cycle makes more females?

Hey fellow growers, I have searched everywhere on the web for definitive evidence that interupting the night cycle with one hour of light ( during veg. stage of course) will give you more females. Is there anybody out there that has used this technique more than once with at least 10 seeds and have gotten 70% female or better. Are there any known secrets for a better female to male ratio or has it been determined that it is genetic?

i would say do this too much and you will have a lot of hermies :p
interrupting a light cycle will = more stress.. stress isn't good for plants. they can take it a bit, but do it often you will not be happy.

agreed. i try to never let light on my plants during their sleep, especially not my grow light.

Defently dont do this. My light timer got fucked up, a little more then an hour, but my plant grew down and up into a loop.

Also, I never understood the more females crap, did anything decide or influence what sex you were in your mom other then your genetics???

Yep.....it's purely genetic from what I understand.

I am a true believer of it being a truly genetic thing. the only flaw it that theory is that if a seed was pre-determined to be female no amount of stress short of killing the plant would make it go hermie. being a hermie would have to be pre-determined also. im really not sure what to think. I do know that I have done alot of grows and the best ones were the ones where I just left the plants alone, no scrog or weird light cycles, really no plant training at all. I usually grow AMS seed white widow and I have gotten between 4 and 5 ounces dried per plant organic and with no harassing techniques.
